[QUOTE=Nalieken;15332093I know it didn't change anything in the vaults in the base game. But has anyone changed it in the DLC?[/QUOTE]

AFAIK, difficulty has effect in timers in challenges, including vaults. But that's seems to be it.

In my opinion, a 'puzzle' is something you have to figure out how to do, but the actual 'doing' is not hard. These vaults are not puzzles. It takes seconds to figure out, 'I need to stand on that platform' but an hour later you're still trying to do the jump without falling. That's too frustrating for me.

I an sad because I loved this game so much that I bought the season pass. But I doubt I will even bother downloading this DLC, since there's clearly no way I can do it.

Yes, absolutely, these a lazily designed platforming whatsoever, not puzzles.

Thats what I loved about the Epic Chests in the main game - solving the puzzles and hearing the rewarding chime when you solve them

I'd say that most of the DLC trials I played (before I quit) were quite tedious.

    Spoiler:  Show
i.e. fighting a boss with bunch of Harpies with barely a safe place to stand on as the platforms are spiked and one misstep causes you to fall to your doom.

My suggestion to the devs....if someone is playing in 'story' mode, why not let them trade something (Charon coins?) in any vault for 'skip this puzzle and just take me to the next save platform'. If we just plain can't make the jump, why not allow us to 'cheese' it? Hey, it's a single player game! It's not like we're cheating anyone else, is it? Do you really want a frustrated player to feel like quitting the entire game just because there is ONE fricken jump (for me it was in Athena's vault) that is just beyond our abilities?

I spent almost four hours in that vault mostly on one or two jumps. I finally just got lucky. I shouldn't have to rely on dumb luck to hit the buttons fast enough.

Also, in story mode, turn timers off. ALL OF THEM. Except for maybe Navigation challenges, timers are not needed. And they're annoying. I'm slow, OK? Let me take my time.

How do you feel about the new DLC?

I just have to get it off my chest and hopefully someone in the company is listening. I am a former beta tester who started out testing King's Quest I and has tested over 100 games formally and critiqued over 500 since Pong was the latest thing. I like all kinds of Single Player games and really enjoyed Fenyx Rising but I detest the new DLC. It is like they took all the rotten features and quests from Fenyx...jumbled them all together, made certain to leave out every redeeming quality of the original game and put the mess out as a DLC. The ONLY good thing they brought over was the dialogue...still witty and actually entertaining but the 'quests or tasks' are awful. They are totally dependent on reflexes, require no thinking...just nimble fingers, with no way around them to accomplish the goal. Even on the most awful of the Tartaros dens, there was more than one way to finish the area if you gave it some thought. Not with the DLC. If this is caliber of the DLCs to come I will be canceling my Ubisoft account. I feel better now.

Thanks for letting me vent. Wondering what others over the age of forty think as well.

    Ares trials

I totally agree Ares trials are enraging.

@CelesteJak I could not agree more. How can anyone on development team believe that this DLC is what gamers wanted. There are so many vaults in the base game and for some reason they believe that gamers wanted more of it and not just more only vaults? Am I the only one that was expecting a new island instead of this mess?
