My initial take on "A New God" DLC

First off, I loved the base game. Did about 99% of the stuff before beating Typhon.

Started the DLC. You lose all your weapons, armors and Phosphers. except the cosmetic versions.

Any upgrades to your gear, stam, health and abilities after maxing them is gone.

The whole DLC looks like just a bunch of vaults.

I was expecting an expansion of the base game, not a "reset".

    Mildly disappointed so far.

And of course, the community photos are still everywhere and cannot be turned off.

Thanks for the testing , now i know i dont have to buy the dlc.
Was looking forward to it but after the tribute to family quest which has messed up my save games i can live without the dlc and save my money.

I'm with you here. I spent time in NG+ just to prep for the first DLC. It was disappointing to see that time all thrown away aside from how much better I am at using God skills, which is incredibly useful in the DLC.

That being said I enjoyed the vaults in the base game so I'm having fun with them here. It's bitter-sweet that I'm going to get cool new gear and blessings that will be fun to use, but I don't get to go run around the base game or NG++ and play using them.

immortals fenyx rising - a new god

I like the game but this Dlc a new god is not good for someone who doesn't like these types of challenges as its no fun at all when ya find em difficult to do and not one bit of fighting at all ive been doing this a few hours now and only got 2 of Ares done want loads of action not puzzles just my thoughts may have to quit the game altogether if this is what the Dlc's going to be like.

A huge part of the base game is the vaults you go through, and this DLC is basically a collection of vaults that challenge your skills with the god powers.

My understanding is that the second dlc is more like the first game but based on Chinese mythology.

    I agree completely.

What's the point of boosting stats and abilities and gear in the base game, if it can't be used in the DLC.

Why earn new abilities and gear in the DLC if they can't be used in the main game.

I get the whole story/timeline idea for the DLC, but it's all vaults. My least favorite activity. No real exploration, combat or anything. Just vaults.

Talk to a person, do a vault. Talk to a person, do a vault. Talk to a person, do a vault. Talk to a person, do a vault. Ad nauseam.

I'll wait for the next DLC that hopefully brings more to the table and just spend my time in new game+.

I realize that the next 2 DLCs are stand alone stories and that's fine. They both seem more like the base game than this DLC.

Thanks for the heads up indeed.

I'm so glad I didn't go for the Gold Edition (I hated myself for getting FC5 Gold).

Don't get me wrong, more of Fenyx can't be a bad thing but considering that it will take me quite some time to go through the base game at this point I don't really care for DLC content that is totally separate from the base game and is a self contained experience.

    Agree completely. Underwhelming.

Pretty, but useless - kinda like my ex.

For me, it’s too overkill on a part of the game that will never be to everyone’s taste. I loved the exploration and storytelling of the base game, but in honesty, didn’t always love the vaults.

I liked the challenge of solving some of the puzzles but at times, I’d roll my eyes a little when I had to do another vault for a God etc.

Discovering that the DLC was just pretty much entirely vaults was disappointing. Feels more like a puzzle mini game than a DLC of the actual game unfortunately.
