Global event When ? + mission completed not showing.

As above, is it much the same as in D1, do they run at the same time, also I teamed up with a guy who invited me, completed mission, it came up mission completed, but when I left session and looked on my map the same mission was not completed, I'm a level 30, any advice would be appreciated.

    Hy Cutaway...

Well, the Global Events are a rather different story here in TD2. They only happen within the level 40 endgame. This means you would have to own the WoNY expansion and finish its storyline (while thereby raising your character's level from 30 to 40). With reaching the level 40 endgame you can also take part in seasons (we are currently in season 4 of 4 during the current year 2 of TD2) which include the Global Events.

    Concerning the missions:
Hum, as you surly know, there are some missions that game with the base game and you "unlocked" those missions for replaying them in higher difficulties during the campaign of TD2. You did this by playing them at the difficulty "story" when playing them for the first time. After this first run you may re-run the mission at any difficulty (e. g. normal or hard).

Now there are also story-related missions that came into the game with free DLCs, just like the Pentagon and the DARPA missions, the Manning Zoo, Coney Island, and Camp White Oak. You also need to finish them on "story" difficulty first before you can proceed to subsequent missions or play them on higher difficulties. This is because those missions also follow a connected storyline – and some "story" missions include tasks or comms which are removed for replaying those missions in higher difficulties (for better replayability).

So maybe you joined a player playing a mission which you had not completed on "story" difficulty. And he was playing on a higher difficulty, "hard" for instance. And although you can complete this mission with him on "hard" difficulty, the game requires you to again play this mission on "story" so you don't miss on any story-relevant parts which were cut out during the "hard" missions.
