Well, yes, actually. Not a redbar. But a veteran or elite Outcast rusher will get you if you have glass canon. Or an elite true sons chunga with a nade launcher if your One-Shot-Protection timer has already been used.Originally Posted by Vanhus81 Go to original post
NOTE: If you don't know what one-shot protection is, the game literally prevents you from being one shot. There's an internal cooldown on how often it can happen, and it's pretty quick. I'd say every 60 seconds or so. Something like that. You'll notice all the time how often you get hit really hard, but somehow survive with a sliver of health? That's the game mechanic in action.
This. Also, if you really pay attention to the game play mechanics, you will also notice that the enemies let up sometimes. You may find yourself in a poor position and vulnerable to a certain NPC, yet the NPC is just looking at you. Or, an NPC takes a few shots while pressing forward, and if they continue it would be the end, and they magically decide to stop aggression and retreat.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
There are many cases where the game will let up. Sometimes.... that is the important word -- SOMETIMES. I stress that because there are bound to be replies saying "but this one time, at band camp, I got killed by an NPC, so you are lying!"
LOL.
I have taken head shots that put me down with one shot - I have base armor on a pure skill build I can be one shot especially by a named boss like Wyven and other NPCs but I am not complaining its the limit of my build and it comes with it - doesn't happen very often - not everyone uses armor I do fine with out it on my pure skill build.I think they get a critical hit on me when I do get put down. It doesn't happen very often I usually survive a shot but i am not always watch how much of the little armor I do have and is likely the culprit.
