The Capacitor (again) you will love it.

only recently i remembered to use this gun on my EP /vile build and oohhhh boooyyyy!!! its BIS hands down.

i used to use perpetuation to start of a fight and then pull the shotty to get in sinc but it was a tricky and methodic thing that got applyed to the first burn only , i managed to get burn ticks around 450k with this method but now with the capacitator all that is history.

not only i reach very near 500 k ticks eaaaaasily but they are now constant as it is waaaay easier to charge up the gun before the first burn , and let it rip, the best part for me is that even if you apply the burn with 0 stacks on the gun when it gets transmited it will count the stacks at the moment in the gun and up the damage , its beast mode.

this gun is good for regular skills but now i feel its was made for damage status effects.

have fun with it if you werent yet.

only for the record the near 500 ticks are the lowest ones , when its chewing armour it goes up to 525.

You never come on a division forum and say a gun is that great - they will nerf it better to just be happy with it - from the beginning of the game anything really good that people harp about gets nerfed

Burn damage is supposed to be status damage, which is unaffected by skill damage. Capacitor stacks are supposed to be skill damage. Unless they're confusing the initial explosion damage with burn ticks, or the mechanics have been changed, what they're describing doesn't make sense.

status fx damage always has been upped by skill damage ,not only the initial damage but also the burn ticks, this is nothing new , status fx attributes do the same but also up the burn/bleed/whatever time .

this said the 60 % SD on the weapon , plus its 12 damage to armour is where all the magic is when put into a build that is already loaded with SD and SE.

That's questionable. I'm looking at multiple online sources stating that skill damage doesn't affect status effect damage. I'll have to retest it when I get on later.

ok... its so nice when im speaking out of experience and some YTer that only plays the game to gain views discredits us...pfff , this how misinformation is so spread this days.

but go ahead and fact check , eager to hear you back when you soon realize your status build was working at 50 % its capacity because you didnt use any skill damage on it.

BTW do you also doubt that damage to armour ups the ticks further more ?

I tested this earlier when playing around with builds.

Skill damage WILL net you some damage on the burn. But Status damage will get you more.

It's an easy check, just swap two pieces of set gear: One with status effects, one with Skill damage. And check the numbers on the skill itself.

I suppose it's possible that the Capacitor does something unique. It is an exotic, after all. But I suspect it's just a flat increase to skill damage that effects like normal.

what is so unique about the capacitor in this case is a two factor thing , the ability to obtain 60% skill damage from one single and so useful non gear item, and most importantly the ability to maintain that damage very close to max the whole time just by playing the game shooting npcs , an act that is a core fun factor and that procs other gear talents in return , its the perfect storm.

I'm inclined to go with BT3241 assessment of not coming on a division forum & praise anything. Their not normal, they'll do it just because they can.
Having said that I have one at 15% AR damage & 9% to armor. Its been a while - on a reroll does that change both?
Any how I was not realizing much of a benefit without skill tier & what I thought to be server lag was killing me. No status effects yet either.

I so wish they lifted the one weapon / one gear piece exotic limit in this game. I agree Cap is the cat's a$$ on skill and status builds, but my Scorpio is just so darn brutal also with my Vile / EP loadout. It's not exactly a tank build, so on the rare occasions they get through my Firestarter or Stinger Hive my Scorp always brings them to their knees (literally).

I went back and forth trying to decide if the Scorp power up close is more important than the extra buffs from Cap, and ended up with the former, using Test Subject instead to buff my skill damage. I know, it's not as good as Capacitor, but it's close (mine is a god roll), and I get to keep Scorpio.

Now if only I could equip Capacitor AND Scorpio it would be the status build from heck. :-)
