How do i disable global events.

How do i turn off this global event?

I only play survival and they forced on me some power to shock everyone i shoot into my game. Now every enemy I come across gets shocked, stands immobile out of cover and does nothing at all and waits to die. Now I don't have to use any cover, any skill, any effort, and the game is pointless. I don't know how you can think adding this absurdly overpowered shock feature to a war game does anything but turn it into a joke. You might as well add wall hacks. Survival is one of the best game modes ever made due to it's difficulty and challenge and after adding this shock power you removed the entire challenge from it. Now it's nothing. For the first time I was BORED playing it.

So please tell me, how do i turn off this global event?

This waste of my time is a testament to UBIsofts indefensible practice of not letting you have control over deleting YOUR content.

You cannot. Come back next week when it's over.

How hard is it to make it optional? They are programmers right?

Most people, myself included, look forwarded to the Global Events. I am approaching 5 years (and at last look was over 4,500 hours across 3 accounts) in this game and still love it. The GE's throw in a short termed welcome change. Yes, this is the GE that affects Survival difficulty the most, followed by the one with the other 3 elements that cycle on reload. I often suggest these two GE's for new players to try out Survival.

They didn't start the GE's until 2018 if memory serves. Each event lasts exactly a week. They used to be like clockwork every month, but they've lapsed a few times in between them. In the grand scheme of things, the ratio of GE to non-GE playtime during the games lifetime is probably 1:20 or less. That gives plenty of opportunity to not play them. Besides, for most people, they take advantage of the fleeting GE's to properly gear up on any missing applicable gear set items.

All that said, the GE where every enemy that dies drops a "death grenade" after they die and plays the associated explosion sounds gets incredibly annoying by the end of it. Conversely, I sure miss the extra squishy headshot noise heard during that GE.

As far as enable/disable feature, remember that you are playing on a public server, not a game that runs entirely on your PC. These "server instances" can have many people playing on them at the same time even though you may or may not see them. Global server-side settings are much more difficult to do, though probably not impossible. This isn't a client-side change such as difficulty, draw distance, resolution, etc.

It has nothing to do with private servers. Global events are disabled most of the time and when you're under lvl 30 you do not have GE active at all when it's active for others, and they added a disable GE option to #2. So adding a disable option to Division #1 would be the simplest feature to add.

It ruins the game for some people and makes combat so easy it has no challenge at all. They need to make it optional.

    No changes are being made.
It does have an option to turn it off in division 2 but division 2 doesn't have survival.
At the end of day... adding GE in survival was a mistake... pretty sure they didn't even think about it.

I like time to time a quick run

Without seeing the code, no one knows just how difficult it would be to add. It matters private vs public servers because it was not programmed for it in the base game and/or when the GE's were released. The fact that there haven't been changes made to the game in a couple of years now, and the fact that it is not a change the end-user can make, is where this idea will end. If it were a private server, perhaps one could reverse engineer it and make the change.

They made the decisions they did to appeal to the most people and/or cost/value ratio. TD2 was mentioned above. It really ticked me off in TD2 that when completing certain tasks, it enables the invaded function as well as irreversibly raising your WT level without any warning whatsoever. I still had stuff I wanted to do. It bothered me enough that I quit playing that character. Shortly after WoNY came out, I quit that game completely after ~100-120 hours (compared to ~4500 in TD1). Just too many things that I think they took a step backwards. But, just like you on the GE's on the first one, I must be in the minority as they have never changed it. I'm not trying to call you out or anything, your opinion is valid. However, from memory, I don't recall anyone ever requesting them be removed in this forum. I didn't search though. I get where you are coming from, but it isn't going to happen.

Thanks TheLittleFarmer. I appreciate your simple candor. I guess I have no choice but to wait a week.
