    The Summit @#!#!#!#!#*&#@!

First imagine in the title characters as every explicit word know to man. I went there for an assault rifle, preferably a capacitor. All of mine are just ok. It all went south when I jumped over a balcony to pick up what I thought was missed loot. It wasn't but there was no path to return, NONE. So I restarted & checked my settings. I managed to get some assault drops of which one was the capacitor. NOTE! this was the third challenge not the 5th which was for the capacitor.

So on I go but I never received credit for three crate keys. So I finished another before floor 10 but no capacitor. Can this be reset, like starting new? I quit & decided to try another player with demolition. The problem being after changing to demolition it would not allow it because early on I did not pay for the talent.

So I change my original player to demolition, which worked but game play was a mess. I tried the key 3 crate thing but once again only received credit for two. Then I got mostly crap, definitely no capacitor or any decent AR. When there is a Hive, what ever that is what do you do? Some times more often than not I have no clue. Well I killed everything more than once but this thing just sits and blows green bubbles. OK I went on to I think the 8th floor. It let me in & as soon as I open the door three things attacked, a flame thrower, the running inferno idiot & the other I forgot all attacked me the moment I walked in. Instant wipe. Back down to the 7th floor again. Then eventually to the Hive, I just killed everything. Then onto floor 8 where immediately once again was burnt to a crisp & wiped. I tried again but never got past the Hive thing. This time around it was a no go. Even the hive, whatever it is was against me.

Whats the deal with a reset or what ever it takes? I watched a couple of videos but there is a lot of assumption that assumes you know as much as they do.

You get the Capacitor after completing any FIVE challenges. Until you unlock it, it will not drop from any other source.

The Summit rooms are a completely different challenge than anything else you've played in the game so far. It takes some getting used to. But once you figure out how things work, you will start breezing through many levels.

There is always a path back up, either indicated by a yellow tarp, by climbing up some bookshelves against a wall, or stairs.

When there is a Hive, what ever that is what do you do
Stay within the area of the hive and eliminate the enemies as they spawn. The hive heals you and/or protects you against the environmental hazard in the surrounding area. There is one variant where you'll have to switch between different hives.

A reset of your checkpoint will return you to the lobby and have you restart on Floor 1. Any completed challenges will be cleared so you can do them again. Any in-progress challenges will retain their progress (even if they're not active).

I completed 5 challenges & got the capacitor as an assault rifle drop after the third challenge. I never got the capacitor for the fifth challenge. I never got credit for the 3 crate challenge, it only shows credit for two crates. Now the capacitor is no longer listed for completing the fifth challenge. It is bugged which is why I asked about a reset. Summit has issues & I am not the first. I might be able to go thru levels but not getting credit for what I've done is an issue. I'm not the first either.

You only get the Capacitor as a reward once. After that it's in the loot pool, and at the mercy of RNG.

Thanks for the Hive info. By reset of the summit check point -- how is that done? I'm not sure how to reset it. I know when I last left it I was in an endless loop. Finish the floor then the next floor was an instant wipe -- twice.

Thanks, I never got it as the named item in the fifth challenge. It come as the 3rd item challenge an assault rifle. The summit has been a headache like others have verified. Anyway it doesn't matter I can't do anything with that mess until a reset. Walking in the 8th floor to an instant wipe is not my idea of fun. Pulling teeth without a sedative come to mind

IMO the Summit should only be used to farm gear if there isn't an associated better mission or open world zone with the drops you want.

    It's bad drops per hour.
    It's bad experience per hour.
    It's weak content.
The RNG with keys and chests to get Ridgeway's Pride pieces is crap filler design.
The floor 100 encounter is just a lazy "f**k you" to players that isn't remotely interesting. Camping a doorway, or shooting through a window, and waiting for super-bullet sponge NPCS to filter through into traps is boring and weak.

I don't find the drops per hour any different in the Summit ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ [though XP seems a touch low]

Played for almost two hours last night, on Challenging with a few directives. Knocked out my 30, got an exotic component & pristine example, plus 50-100 pieces of targeted loot [not sure exactly how many Weaves I had going in] and about a dozen Proficiency Cache.

It's much more enjoyable in a group though. I like that it's not just the same spawns as usual - but I do hope they continue to add new levels & objectives.

So you did get the Capacitor?

Once you do, the only reason to do Challenges is if you want Summit Cache [Optimization Mats] or the Commendations [Arm Patches]. You won't get another Capacitor from completing Summit Challenges.
