Mission check points for Amber Sky plane mission. | Forums

Amber sky is pretty fun but there is one mission that has proven to be very frustrating for me. I think it's the 7th or 8th mission wherein I must rescue a scientist, steal a plane and fly both back to a landing strip. The big problem here is where the mission saves as a check point. Planes can be very difficult to land and the entire mission is considered a failure if the plane crashes.

I have now rescued the scientist and cleared the entire base of some 40 odd enemies at least 3 or 4 times and flown the plane to the landing strip only to fly slightly too low, causing the plane wheels to collide with the cliff at the end of the air strip, technically crashing the plane. Even though the plane does not explode and continues to drag down the run way right to where it ought to be, with all the contents onboard intact, the mission is automatically failed. Okay, so get better at flying the plane. I can do that. I did it in wildlands and got a bit rusty since then.

But upon restarting the mission, the entire base is respawned and I must reach the scientist all over again. This could be a lot less painful if the mission had a check point upon entering the plane with the scientist. Then I can work on the part of the mission that I am failing. I like clearing out bases, I like sneaking in to find the scientist, I'm fine with all that. But doing it several times over because of a tiny mistake later on in the mission makes the entire ordeal monotonous and has left me frustrated.

I totally agree with you.
Ghost Recon are not my favorites games, but I like it sometimes.
But a plane rescue... Really...! And a landing lane on high, with no room to maneuvre.
And a check point that makes you do the entire mission from the beginning!
Please, let us put the stuff in on a chopper!
I was having fun with Amber Sky. But with this before last mission, I'm giving up... I am not willing to get better at flying plane.
