Night maps and How they could help with Balancing

I understand that a lot of people did not like the night maps (I found them fun tbh and it made the game unique to me) with visibility issues but I think that they should be brought back. Here me out on this one!

The game has a major issue of spawnpeeking and runouts with unfair vantage points in a lot of maps. The low visibility of night maps can be used very well here with a few tweaks. The spawn points and the route to the building can remain dark to an extent that attackers do not have a good line of sight to the inside. All potential points of entry and sniping could be well lit making them visible from inside. This way, the attackers have some breathing room to get to site instead of being shot in the first 15 seconds of the game barely even moving.

Another reason why this is needed as this game currently favors the defenders a lot. The defenders can eliminate attackers with spawnpeeks, have more cameras which are much easier to hide in many cases (considering bulletproof cams the team can potentially add 5 more cams and well placed positions can make them indestructible). Unlike defenders the attackers have fewer lethal gadgets to use and must rely solely on their weapons and their drones which need skill to use properly.

Giving attackers a visibility advantage at least outside so that they can move freely to the building could make the win rates a little more balanced vs defenders. This should not be that hard to do vs reworks as only the lights need to be tweaked.

The night maps also feel a lot more lively in maps like coastline (fond memories tbagging in the disco lights) , favela, fortress (the desert night sky is really pretty). Not many games do night maps which I really like since this started out as a tactical fps making you play as CTUs

    Night maps

I 100% agree with you night maps could help the attackers so much more by not getting spawn killed as much and would make the game more balanced in a way. Also night maps were such a cool addition to the game that I really miss and I hope they return in the future. They could even make it like a toggle in settings were if you want to play on day maps only you toggle on day or if you want to play on night maps only you can select night or even both. Either way I agree 100% night maps need to return and I really hope they do in the future

Night maps do need to come back. It is entirely possible to keep Ranked separate from Casual and Casual separate from Custom. In either casual or custom, I'd see it entirely possible to control having night maps as players are wanting to play for the atmosphere it brings. In the recent Future or Siege panel, they discussed reducing the download size of the overall game by having certain assets only download when you unlocked them or something along those lines. Case in point, having a way to reduce the file size by controlling the content that's downloaded I think it would be fantastic to apply this to the once implemented night maps. Players could download certain night maps for custom gameplay or casual gameplay and get matched with other players based on whether or not they have that map. This may involve extra work on Siege's server end, but I truly believe that night maps were a large part of what made this game special. For me, there's a difference between special and fun, and I'd say that Siege has been fun and I respect their decision to have daytime maps dominate the current rotation. If Ubisoft does read this, please consider brining back night maps. For the others who stumble across my post, please voice your own thoughts too as I feel like this affects the game quite significantly.

I agree to add night map back, I have started to watch rainbow six siege since 2016, started to play at 2020 (not long, but still brings me many ideas), and I loved it because it got morning maps and night maps, which adds more difficulty to both side, I knew night map might bring spawn peeks, but these year, ubi added more things like a bus, a box even a van to prevent spawn peeks happen, bring back night maps could also bring back those people who quit rainbow six siege recently, and old players would be rejoin. All we want is to make the community better and make the game more challenging and interesting. Hope to see Ubisoft start to plan or make a vote with night map topic.

Shame all this company is interested in anymore is making the game as homogenized and milquetoast as possible.

Night Maps wasn't fair in that it was hard to spot defenders from windows when they were spawn sniping.

However, some maps are better than others which aren't as vulnerable to that. For instance House would be a decent map at Night due to the close proximity of attackers at spawn to spot defenders at windows. Similarly, Skyscraper has a hidden spawn which remedies the situation immediately.

I would like the team to consider adding a flashlight and nightvision (FL & NV) in night maps as a different mode. Maps would be dark with lights turned off. Flashlights and Nightvision could be turned on. Those with Nightvision would be blinded by Flashlights. And those without Nightvision would be able to spot a Flashlight more easily.

I consider both FL & NV and nightmaps great modes as limited time events.

Eventually, it could be a promotional event for the upcoming spinoff parasite.
