What would you change on this build?

NOTE: THIS BUILD IS BASED ON SOLO AND GROUP IN LEGENDARY MODE

    Spec: Technician

    • Skills: Artificer Hive
    • Skills: Crusader Ballistic Shield

    Artificer Hive Mods:

    • 1 x Health
    • 1 x Range
    • 1 x Stim Efficiency

    Crusader Shield Ballistic Mods:

    • 2 x Shield Health
    • 1 x Damage Bonus

    Weapons:

    • Main: P416 with strained
    • Secondary: Sweet Dreams

    Gear:

    • Mask: Grupo with Weapon Damage + Critical Hit Damage + Critical Hit Chance
    • Backpack: Memento
    • Chest: Belstone with Armor + Headshot Damage + Hazard Protection and Obliterate
    • Gloves: Fenris with Weapon Damage + Critical Hit Damage + Critical Hit Chance
    • Holster: Ceska with Armor + Critical Hit Damage + Critical Hit Chance
    • Kneepads: Fox's Kneepads with Weapon Damage + Damage to Target out of Cover + Critical Hit Damage

Mask + Backpack + Chest fitted with Protection to Elites

    Notes:

    • Chest is not great, looking for Armor+CHC+CHD+Obliterate
    • Holster: Cant seem to get a good Improvised Holster so i can equip Protection to Elites
    • P416: Tried other AR's but this one seems the most stable on console, Dont have a Police M4

the 1% damage bonus mod on the shield is useless , that only works with the firewall shield.

also i find protection from elites to be useless for the most part , even detrimental as you relax because of the reduced elite damage only to be mowed down by a red after that , i would change all that to CHD.

the rest is fine , only changing the chest to something else could benefit it as you already have 3% regen from bullwark and that 1% makes little diference , a WH for example could do you better.

I only put the damage bonus mod on the shield just to fill the slot up with something any recomendations?

I will give CHD mods a go as i am finding the reds are more troublesome than the elites.

I am using the Crusader Ballistic Shield not Bulwark....but i deffo need a better rolled chest piece.

i cant remember if there is even any mod that is relevant to replace the damage one , but if you have regen or health mods for that slot you should put those to use.

as for the chest im picking up you might think the regen stats on gear also heal your shield , that is not true , they only regen player armour , only the artificer , its own mods and FB can regenerate shield health.

and good call on the CHD mods , im sure the build will perform better .

bullwark and crusader are basicaly the same in terms of protection while they are up , you can get shot from the sides with either but you take no frontal damage while they are up , only diference is the shield health and the ability to use other things besides pistol in trade for shield health.

is this meant to be a "on your face" build " or the shield is just for some long/ midrange protection?

It looks very similar to the build that's been rolling around my head the past few days. Except I swapped out the Armor cores for Skill Tier and used a Capacitor for my primary weapon. This gives me a better shield and higher base weapon damage.

I like that your build has such high CHC and CHD while squeezing in some PfE mods...but I'm not as sure about the inclusion of the Fox's Prayer knees. I'd need some math wizard to figure out if the overall damage output. Strained is nothing to sneeze at either, and I really wish Capacitor could use it.

I think ultimately it's going to come down to personal preference. Tweaking a few cores here and there, a few mods, or swapping a weapon to give you overall performance that you're personally comfortable with. No matter what, I feel these kinds of builds are VERY well-rounded, and capable of doing just about any level of content.

I will see what i have in my stash as to regards that shield mod.

I will farm for a W&H chest to replace that Belstone....hopefully RNG will be on my side......I have a some god rolled chest pieces but i can't change the talents on them, they all have Unbreakable.

As for the build, it's mainly shield up all the time and pick them off one by one for group play in legendary, i will not be using this build in heroic as i can kills stuff much quicker just using my rifle build or skill build.

So it's kinda in your face build but at the same time not, shield can only take so much before it's destroyed, i didn't want to go full shield tank as i find that boring so opted for some protection and dps.

I would love to use the Capicitor but due to the way it moves on console and the tension i have to put on my thumbstick to keep it stable makes my arthritis kick in, hence my post about letting us change mods on exotics.

Main reason i opted for Fox's way for the DTOOC, plus there is not much out there to replace them with.

I tested out strained vs killer doing solo legendary and i found killer's buff (40% critical hit damage for 10 seconds) ran out a lot of the times so opted for strained.

just asked about the in your face thing because if it was i was going to sugest better guns and talents to be up close , but if its not then you´re good with strained .

I would still be interested what weapons/talents you would use for up close.

All these questions, this is what happens when you play a rifle build for so long

Now from the top of my head , named pp19 with perf. Strained 80% more chd , named honey badger with 38% more weapon damage on kill.
