Do you think Far Cry 6 will have a mission replay option?

It bothers me that you can't replay missions in any of the Far Cry games. That would be a nice feature to add.

You can in Far Cry 1, Far Cry Instincts, Far Cry Instincts Evolution, Far Cry Instincts Predator and Far Cry Vengeance. Besides those games, I know what you mean. It would be nice to see in Far Cry 6.

So basically not since they went proper open world? Normally I'd say the chances of them adding a feature like this would be unlikely, but seeing as how Toronto is leading development on this title maybe the leads in charge of these decisions view the significance of such a feature differently. More so than mission replay I really hope they add MULTIPLE SAVE FILES so that if we want to play the game a 2nd time we don't have to completely overwrite our first playthrough's progress. Sometimes I beat a game, start it over, and then go back to the first play through to try to mop up the side content or 100% it. I hate that (starting with FC4) they've abandoned the ability to have multiple playthroughs.

I suppose it also depends on the game developers. I find it bizarre that several Assassin's Creed games have replayable memories while some do not. At least Far Cry 5 has New Game+. I wouldn't count on Ubisoft Toronto to add replayable missions, but there are multiple save files for Watch Dogs Legion. New Game+ would be added in a future update for Legion.

I think everything that makes a game artificial, everything taken out of context is bad.

Possibility to replay a mission is one of them.
    It's artificial.
    It's torn out of context.
It's torn out of time flow.

Time flows forward in our life.
You can't return back and redo something that you would like to do differently. Done is done.

We can regret about something we did in the past or how we did - but we can't return back and redo it.
All we can do is to face certain consequencies of that action.
    To reap what was sown.

We should think about what we're going to do and how we're going to do ....we should think about it ahead.
    We should prepare ourselves ahead.

Ability to replay a mission - is returning back and redoing.
Instead of facing certain consequencies of our action....most likely unpleasant consequences. ( because of our sluggishness or inability to quickly assess the situation and make the right decision)

Instead of facing that unpleasant consequences and get valuable lesson for the future we're returing back and just redoing it.
    This is Fraud.
    This is cheating.

Ability to replay a mission is nothing but Cheating!

I think helping to cheat is not what a good computer game should do.

No one supporting the proposal of mission replay has suggested anything about it rewarding the player in anyway, so there is no "cheating" involved. The proposition, from my perspective, is simply to allow players to experience missions they found particularly enjoyable again without having to restart the entire game. There is literally nothing about such a feature to rationally oppose. If it is not something of interest to any particular player, unlike a core game mechanic, it would be something easily ignored.

    That what it's all about...

    Enjoying again is also reward.

As for me, I should leave the game's table a bit hungry. Not satiated.
To leave place for desire to return to the game later, again.

Wish to replay the game is a core topic of a good game.
    One of its main feature.

    You want it again!
You was left a little hungry.

What trics developers have used to achieve it is their inner kitchen, inner working.

Ability to replay missions, to enjoy it again and again, will lead to oversaturation.
Having enjoyed every mission again and again ......Doubtful that I will want to replay the game again. Very doubtful.
    I've had it enough.
    I'm satiated.

But the inability to replay a mission will keep some excitement.
It will make the game more alive.
    More intriguing.

It won't let you to be oversaturated after its finishing and will keep you a bit hungry.

    What is a Game???
    It's unique and non-repeatable moment.

    Like a penalty.
You can enjoy it only once.

There will be no other possibility to repeat it. You won't be able to enjoy the same action again.

You can kick the ball in the sky or in the wrong direction.
But you can't run up with the ball - "I want to repeat it again!"

    This is a Game!

.....and millions freeze with bated breath.

Ability to replay will kill its excitement.

    The same with computer games.

And then if you die and reload checkpoint, you're already replaying it. Sigh, why do I even bother responding...

My first game from Ubisoft was Far Cry 3 and it got me hooked. I played Far Cry 4, 5, and New Dawn. I was thinking that at Far Cry 5, there would definitely be an option to replay missions. I was horribly wrong. There were boss fights I want to return to but I don't want to restart the game all over again to get to it.

You re perfection right. Somehow Guru always goes sooooooo far in his answers and ideas i start wondering if he has tried Dr Earnhardt's mushrooms in real life. That s somehow fascinating.
