This game is a different beast in immersive mode and playing minimal to no HUD but there are few more things I'd like to see updated for my style of play to really work:
- Difficulty - Already requested many times but you need to split the AI difficulty/lethality and their Detection Time in to 2 separate settings, I want to be able to play advanced AI so can really enjoy the injury mechanic but have the fastest detection times for realism. I would also like to have a slider to up the the range at which AI (or certain types of AI) can detect me from and it's way too close especially if it's an open field and I'm standing, can see them clear as day but they can't see me - what is that about?
- Intel - With Objective setting off and just play with the compass instead of minimap, there is no way to tell where intel is in game unless you rub up against everything a wait for the prompt or grab every enemy. To improve this, how about adding a glimmer to intel points like the you do with the crates and when it's a person with intel, allow this to be seen only when using binoculars as if you were doing recon - either see the info icon on them or where it describes the person, put a message there saying they may have info.
- Objective setting in HUD - For those who play minimal HUD, I have found that you need to have the objective marker on whether it is in HUD or on the minimap. Some missions require this on otherwise you have no idea from the mission brief what or where you need to go. For those who choose to see their objective in HUD instead of the minimap, it is a right pain seeing the info icon, padlock icon for prisoners and lightening bolt for generators. All you want to see is the objective once found/directed. Please break these options down to solitary settings that can be toggled on/off.
- Minimap and Detection Status - Another already heavily requested in the forums. Please allow us to disable the detection status from the minimap/compass. Hate being psychic and knowing the enemy has been alerted and when the alert is over, when I have the minimap/compass on.
- Rocket Launcher/Attack Helo - No HUD = no crosshairs which is absolutely fine for weapons but 1) why is the rocket launcher a consumable in the 1st place and 2) as you cannot see where you are aiming the thing in 1st person, why are there no crosshairs by default? It is near on impossible knowing where you are aiming without these (same for helos actually). Either always have crosshairs when using the RL or attack helo, or have an option to toggle this on for these either in the settings of by pushing a button when using.
- Hit Sound - Requested many times but need a toggle for this to be on or off. Off gives better immersion and is desperately needed IMO.
- TacMap Visible Building Structures - So you have the Guided Mode which can be turned off which is a great addition however, to make this even better you need to be hiding the building structures on the TacMap when you have not explored that area - a bit like a fog of war but can see still see the physical landscape like lakes, forests, etc as these are needed for the Guided Mode clues. It is annoying having this good mechanic in the game only to be ruined by knowing exactly where the building is. Why can't it be that the clue states "it's in southern x province, north of a lake" and you still don't know exactly where it is from the map. You have to actually go there and look around for it, scout the structures in that area to know it's where you need to go. Once explored, then it can be shown on the TacMap for future reference.
- Location in HUD - Prefer to only see the province here rather than the actual building as well. Using Guided Mode off, you have to find the location you need to get to. You can be quite far away from the area, yet to scout the place to see if that is the correct area/building, yet the location pops up in the bottom right to tell it's the right building AND your objective is still saying to locate the area (clues from the non Guided Mode) and the area not discovered on the TacMap. Only showing the province in HUD would really help here as I like to scout the locations to make use of the binoculars plus will help with my next point below.
- TacMap Player Icon - Would be cool to have a toggle for this too. Would be nice to be able to turn this off so I don't know exactly where I am on the TacMap but have the location displayed in HUD (province only as per above point) so I have to navigate by the landscape and scouted structures with the TacMap. I hate it being a GPS map particularly when we don't even have a simple radio to talk to people when missions are complete yet have headsets/earpieces for cosmetics so why do we have GPS? Would certainly make it more immersive and make scouting better.
Anyways a few if not most of these may be personal to me and how I do and would like to play, but feel these above could help to make the game even more immersive than it currently is.
