    Red Bar Enemies

Guys if you are going to make these hit like a literal truck then you might as well just make all the enemies red bars, it is an absolute joke how much these npcs are doing, i could not care less about the elites or the veterans these guys are the real enemy.

They should not be doing 1m damage in a second..... Massive you seriously need to take a look at this. the worst culprits are the throwers and their smg

and Heavy gunners of any level are an absolute disgrace, their damage is insane.

This is an old cheap trick of Massive's.

When we built the insanely strong damage to elite builds in TD1, they removed elites from legendary and stuffed them with reds that do legendary elite damage.

When players started figuring out the protection from elites in TD2... tah dah... elites become reds.

    Laziness.

Jokes on Massive then, as that just makes the game easier, since they didn't boost the Red Bars health

I've been rocking PfE almost exclusively, for months [outside my HF speed run build]. I have noticed no overarching difference in NPC mix or power outside the occasionally mislabeled Elite Patrols, but I have enjoyed turning Elites into low-threat targets.

...at least they (regulars) are most vulnerable to status effects and ARs (damage to health).

They are just easier to kill, that's it.

If you manage to shoot first. And in most cases in higher difficulty you don't, because they are almost always those who shoot first. Even before to enter the room or in the same split second when they spawn.

In Legendary regulars and veterans are the most dangerous enemies, no matter what build you have, they are hitting very hard, sometimes harder than elites:

And here you can compare damage directly, on Heroic, I've stand in front of them on purpose to see how much damage deal every category of NPC:

As I said in previous occasions, this game became a joke. Entirely.

They all hit the same, the only difference between Red, Purple, and Yellow enemies are the HP/Armor pools you have to whittle through.

There's two things to keep in mind here:

    1) Legendary is supposed to be broken stupid. It's the entire point of the difficulty.

    2) The death-log is not reliable.

I would say that a lot of the incoming damage is very high on heroic and above, but that means you have to be a little smarter about your positioning and how many enemies you allow to shoot at you at any given time. Everyone knows that trying to build around survivability and tanking hits isn't a very good strategy outside of shield builds. This isn't new except for the recent change in encounter composition to "nerf" PFE builds.

At this point I don't know why people are still getting offended by it. It's simply the nature of the game, and you either play around it or die. Massive clearly isn't going to change it or balance it differently.

That's why usually a pair can breeze through any legendary if one person runs an 80% PFE tank build, while the other rolls with a high damaging status effect build.

& as Sokard stated above, they do generally all hit the same.
What makes Elites "elites" & Veterans "veterans" is their increase armor & health.
Same guns & assets are possible for all 3 tiers.

Keep in mind at end-game, Agents can do FAR MORE damage than any npc.
On Heroic/Legendary, Standards/Reds are pretty much our equals, just comes down to whom shoots first.
Purples & Yellows are meant to have a natural endurance advantage over us.
The difficulty determines the damage output of hostiles, not the "rank" of said enemy.

    * It is funny every once & awhile on random matchmaking for heroic or legendary when I hear another player curse & shout "I want that snipers gun/damage" after they get popped by an npc marksman. I just think to myself "no...no you don't".
