already tried reinstalling, verifying the installation, disabling background applications and services, disabling the ubi-overlay, disabling the steam overlay, emptied temp folder, fully updated os, updated graphics drivers, reinstalled graphics drivers, made sure the right ports are available on my router and firewall.. all to no avail.
i doubt it's hardware related because this is the only game i own showing this behavior. crysis 3, both deus ex hr & md, subnautica, overwatch, wow and the sims 4 (to name a few) can all be played for hours on end without any issues.
the game runs smooth with no noticable performance issues and the crashes occur seemingly random. sometimes within minutes, sometimes after hours of play. but it always happens during what i think is an autosave moment; gaining experience (tagging or killing enemies), changing zones, editing layout / skills, completing an objective and timed interval autosaves.
this basicly renders the game unplayable and is incredibly frustrating. the game just dies and i gotta start the mission from scratch.
the screen freezes and when i alt-tab out and back in in i'm met with loading screen with a static loading indicator. game does not recover, gave it 5 minutes a few times but it's just dead.
kinda at a loss here.
