Why was my Track Deleted?
Hey RedLynx / Ubisoft...
I had a track in Track Central and it was in Staff Picks for quite some time. Most people have seen it and know the track I'm talking about because it was in the first Thumbnail slot for a long time (Jawbreaker Falls EZ)
A few days ago I noticed it was no longer in Staff Picks (perfectly fair and I have no issues with that at all. In fact I felt like it was about time to get some other ones in there).
Problem is, the track is not only gone from Staff Picks, it's completely gone from Track Central. It's no longer even in "My Tracks" - just gone. I assumed this was a mistake so I've waited a few days but it's still gone. Some people said I should re-upload the track because it was getting around 500 new plays per day. But, I was excited and watching the Download numbers going up and excited to see how close it might get to the all time most DL'ed tracks. I think it was around 38,000 last time I looked. But, now it's just gone.
Just wondering what the heck happened, and is it gone forever?

Thats a bummer, I don't see it either, only the original Jawbreaker Falls.
My track, Trials of Old, was featured in staff picks as Shoguns picks back in late 2019. It is still on T/C, and My Tracks, just not staff picks. In fact, there are only 47 tracks in staff picks at the moment, all with 2020 build date.
I would guess staff picks might get swapped around for new picks. But it doesn't explain why your track is missing from T/C completely.

Right. Staff Picks should rotate & on a regular basis but moving tracks in and out shouldn't delete them from the system. Whatever glitch caused that should be looked into and fixed because these are the tracks chosen to be highlighted and from I've seen, most are really good tracks. I don't think anyone wants to see the "Good stuff" deleted (and this isn't about my track but any] that find their way in there) I have heard that this has happened before.

The question is, when it got deleted? It could have happened after the last update, or when the winter event started. Maybe it was not intentional, hard to say at the moment.
Also, if it happened before to someone else, was it a similar incident? Was there an update at that time, again hard to say. Either way this needs to be looked into by Redlynx, and fixed accordingly to prevent future incidents.
I still think we need the ability to delete, rename, or replace our tracks on T/C at anytime, as long as we are the creator of the track. It was a hassle in the past games to contact Redlynx about removing our tracks that were either flawed, or fixed. As we both know, most of the testing of tracks is done by the creator themselves. Not often do we have players willing to test our tracks before posting.
The track files could have a unique ID, so if we were to repost it, the original would be replaced, and LB for that track reset. And if a player was to download the new version, it would prompt to overwrite the old one they have downloaded, and reset their times for that track.

No way did that just happen - that was a super fun track!
I can't seem to find it either!
I can understand a track being banned but your track had no such materials!
Hopefully stuff like this doesn't keep happening!

To your point @OLD_RockMan; It was deleted when Staff Picks was updated and that is when someone else said it happen to their track also. I agree that it would be nice if the uploader could remove or replace... (actually everything you said about that).
@OG STR8 BLAZIN; Thank you for that. And to your point, I don't think it was banned, I think it was accidentally deleted when it was removed from Staff Picks.
Stuff happens guys and I understand that. I'm not angry with RL or anything like that, just concerned really for any flaws in the system that need fixed. Trials is a fun game and things like this take away from that, thus need fixed.
I'm more bummed out than anything because as I say, I was watching the number of plays with anticipation. That track was, I think, the 2nd or 3rd most played Skill Game on Track Central and I was excitedly watching to see how much higher it might get. Now, even if I did re-upload it, it would be set back to 0.
Maybe someday I'll make a new version of it using the same basic river layout and maybe somewhere between the original difficulty and the ez version that got removed.
Gotta think positive right?
You know, a funny thing... when I started building that track it was for Doughnuts "Summer Build Competition", but I didn't enter it because it was technically not a "Speedrun" trials track so I changed it to a distance skillgame. Ironically getting it placed into Staff Picks and getting all the play that it did was far more exciting to me than winning the Competition. People having fun with it was the real reward for me. So in that respect, I'm quite happy.
(I'd still like to hear something from RL)

You could repost it. You should have a shared copy in your saved files.

Yes, I do have backups. In fact I back up everything to 2 different locations giving me three copies of everything important to me. But, as I said above, uploading it again sets it back to 0 and I'd rather just leave it lost or upload an updated new version. Right now I'm working on a bigger project and wouldn't get to that for a while. Maybe next summer.

Neo New York, created by AMORPHOUS, has been deleted as well. This is one of the most popular tracks to be played on Rising. Gus has also confirmed his track Toxic cave has been deleted. I bet there are many other cases happening that we don't know about. What is going on Redlynx? This is absurd and needs to be fixed ASAP!

O.o not good. These deleted tracks were not just random noob tracks either.
