What keeps me playing this game? It's the live Summit. I pre-ordered The Crew 2 Gold Edition and I did everything that it had to offer. I completed all the events on ace mode, all photo ops, skills, Hobbies challenges, Motorpass challenges(saved up CC 560,000), and reached platinum 1 rank in pvp with maxed out points. I play once or twice a week for the summit and test out new vehicles and that's it. If it wasn't for the Live Summits, I would stop playing The Crew 2 long time ago.
Maybe just me, but I disagree with this entirely.
It's a grind, this is the kind of game that's meant to be updated and have cars added, but to be constantly grinding on, showing off cars, and hanging out.
Yes, obviously a game like this is going to be short in nature. That's the kind of gameplay this offers.
If you want to consider anything An Objective; Grind for all the cars, re-race races, and unlock vanity. Do things that keep you grinding towards owning every vehicle and just power through it.
This is basically the objective.
No this game is totally pointless without custom races, the whole mechanic of it cries for custom races, it needs it, it wil lbring it to life, it will multiply the playerbase, it will increase playing time to almost infinity, but they never implemented custom races, they made this game 100 times worse than it could have been. As someone have said on reddit once this is the most limited limitless game and i think it perfectly sums it up, you can't justify the absence of custom races.
And the final nail in the coffin is how the game has the word 'crew' in it, like its supposed to be focused on a community of players, but it has literally the worst chat that i have seen in any game, it has the worst lobby and it doesn't feel like im in any sort of community at all, people just drive randomly passed you, nobody writes anything in chat, there is no room to get together and discuss something. You can't share the results with your friends, there is no indicatior when your friends beat your record somewhere, the game doesn't tell you anything, like your friends or random players around dont even exist. There is nothing 'crew' about The Crew 2. Making your own fun is not a good justification for a good game, a good game wont make you come up with obscure stuff to do to keep you playing. And believe me i WANT so much for this game to be good, but they didn't bother to make it as good as it should have been, did they? All they are bothered with is milking money from people buying boring nitros and smokes, which is not even present in a lot of varieties.
You'll get your precious Race Editor when they finally decide to end support for this game. Then they can charge you whatever amount of CC they want for it because you are showing that you'll get no matter what. Good old psychological brain manipulation techniques. Give you a little taste of what you really desire then starve you of it until the very last opportunity. You'll do anything for it at that point, even go against logic when they charge you absurdly high for it. WATCH!
Oh i am well aware of the scum practices in gaming industry, seen everything in the last 20 years. They will obviously add track editor at the last cycle of development before turning to juicing the crew 3 and it will have a separate edition or dlc or whatever they come up with, so they can squeeze last drops of money from TC2. I said ivory tower is the worst developer in the industry right now, i might add frontier developments here also, they are very similar in a way how they approach the 'life support' state of their games, because thats what it is, this game is on life support and it could have been a healthy living patient with just a few additions.
