Weapons and speed of an operator mean more than anything in a twitch cod like shooter that this game has become. Some characters have laser guided LMGs, some have decent guns but move so fast you can't hit them with bullets, others have pretty average guns and are 2 speeds.
3 armours are useless....like how the **** did the devs decide that having some operators moving way faster than others, in an ONLINE shooter where latency is always going to be present, would work out fairly? And on top of that they move around at 1/4th of the volume? In a game where sounds so important.
A game with the same principles as this, but where everyone was the same speed and had the same guns available would be so much more enjoyable than this. But unfortunately nothing like that exists on console atm.
I don't get how a game that's been out for so long and is aimed at a 'competitive' scene can have such a huge difference in available operators. It doesn't make any sense. Then to top it off Ubi will release charts showing the obvious, that some operators are either broken good or broken bad, and will then proceed to make buffs and nerfs that don't correlate whatsoever to the charts they have just released.
Mouse and keyboard users seem like so much more common than they once were as soon as you hit gold 3.
Teamkilling In ranked happens way more often recently too.
This game is in a sorry state. And I know some die hard fans are probably gonna pick me apart for most of what I've said, but I've been playing this game for years now but have never disliked playing it as much as I do right now, which is a shame because I like the idea of the game, the execution is just letting it down.
I generally agree about the speed/armor thing. Armor class in this game is pretty much worthless, because everybody is cheating and head-shotting everybody. Headshots are instant kills no matter how much 'armor' you're wearing. And the overall damage reduction granted by the armor, even the very highest, is useless because everyone is using automatic weapons and hitting you with 2-3 bullets before you can react anyway. So the armor offers no significant protection in exchange for the speed reduction. In fact, it's often worse because moving more slowly makes you an easier target, so enemy players can hit you with multiple shots that will kill you before you can get out of the line of fire.
Whereas fast players with no armor, like Ash, move so quickly that they zip in and out of a firing line before the enemy players can even react. And even if they do get a few shots off, the latency in Siege is so bad that a direct hit is registered as a total miss. So faster movement is actually better 'armor' than the ARMOR is.
Siege does have many problems. But the biggest one of all is the cheating. And all the more so because they refuse to unpack the code of this game and do the messy, difficult, but necessary work that would be required to fix it.
To be fair once, they did mention on the in the Year 5 panel that among the long term issues they had Armor vs Speed rating was one of them so they are at least aware but doesn't seem to have pushed much fora fix around that as much just nerfed some 3 speeds. One mental exercise i had fun with was "is there any character that getting their speed dropped down would be considered a buff?" you can also have fun thinking the opposite of when would a speed increase NOT be a buff.
That should tell you a lot of the system, since ACOG was used as a compromise to a character being 3 armor, this is no longer the case yet the situation where being a 3 armor is advantageous is pretty much nonexistant

Problem is most low skill players dont understand how good people can get at the game thus call a bunch of people who are just above their skill level out for cheating. Im guessin both of you are silver max.Originally Posted by Mr.Pixi Go to original post
Only time it was ever actually bad ( in plat cant say stuff about diamond - champion which is however 1-2% of the players so not a majoriry) in recent times was in the mid and end of year 4. Back then I actually played a cheater every 6-7 games.
Don't worry about ol' Ying. He has railed against my posts on principle, because he feels they are too critical and has deemed them 'hateful' (even though there is no hate in them, only some very uncomfortable truths).
It shouldn't even be a matter of debate, and yet it remains so, simply because the people who think cheating isn't a problem are mysteriously stubborn. Many posts have been made complaining about the cheating, and there is a vast proponderance of evidence. Yet there are still Siege apologists who insist that there is no cheating (or not enough to be worth mentioning), and mock those who complain as simply 'not playing the game right' or well enough. They insist that if you just 'get good' then we will see that there's not really any cheating, that it's all in our imaginations. (Even though the developers have a whole section of their blog devoted to admitting that cheating is a huge problem, as well as making perpetually unfulfilled promises to fix it.)
Many cheaters are in a state of outright denial, saying they are only installing what they call 'game enhancement modules' to automate tasks which 'they already proved they can do, and shouldn't have to do manually anymore'. They say such things as 'we are only making use of features which UBI coded into the game', or other such nonsense. And so their copies of the game are stuffed with hacks, cheats, macros and scripts which auto-play many critical game functions for them. And since they have all these cheats installed (and because UBI is not punishing them for it) they can't understand why any player would NOT have them installed. And so, anyone who doesn't install those cheats is just foolishly operating under a self-imposed set of handicaps.
Free ethics lesson: Any 'modules' anyone may have installed - which don't actually come with the game? It's a cheat. That's how cheating is defined.
Never have I stated that cheating isnt a problem. The 1 in 50 games you meet a cheater isnt an enjoyable experience at all and they take the competitiveness and fun outta the game. However people who state that you meet hackers every game and that cheating is at a high point rn are jokes and cant be taken seriously.Originally Posted by Slyrr7 Go to original post
People that state cheaters are in every single game at every rank are exaggerating...as are you by saying you come across 1 cheater in 50 games. Either that or you play the game with vaseline smeared across your eyes.Originally Posted by YingAbuser420 Go to original post
What do you play on? Because if your on console there is literally zero chance you only come across 1 mouse n keyboard user in 50 games.
