It's not an assumption.Originally Posted by Maxime_Qc- Go to original post
You're very obviously one of the players that used to abuse Cent's cutscene for easy wins. No wonder you're having so much trouble now. You've never played fair.
Any half decent player could do those things. And yes claiming deflect spam would indeed be ridiculous. My point is that if you were truly as good as you claim, then why isn't everyone having these problems? Plenty of people have no trouble with the CCU and the majority who do are on last gen consoles.Originally Posted by Maxime_Qc- Go to original post
I know this because I played on Xbox One since season 1 and I played a LOT. Over time, the game has gotten faster and less predictable. It started to get ridiculous. About a month after the CCU, I tried For Honor on PC with 60+ frames and wow was it better. Problem for me was it took forever to find matches. I wasn't happy either way.
Then came the Next Gen upgrade. PC like gameplay and fast Xbox matchmaking times = good times all day long![]()

I assume that is a combination of optionselecting the hell out of everything, having avarage reaction speed, and the attacks being actually stupidly slow. And yes, there is deflect spam- I have seen all kinds of stupid things when spam is combined with an other word, I have seen deflect spam written down as well. Crushing Counter spam too, and that move literally required the opponent to throw attacks from the top.
Anyway, the new game is more skill based- you have to understand your opponent, what they are about to do, and beat it with a mix of offense and defense (because people still parry the hell out of those who stay predictable).
I guess i can manage to readapt (again) ... i bet it's gonna be easyer when i get the ps5!
But i still think parry and deflect should be more rewarding !
I do 1v1 and manage to pull 2 deflect and 1 or 2 parry alsi all in the same fight..... and the opponent still win because just throwing combo result in more dps
Or just because they got bigger healtpool and hit harder ... i feel like their is also way too many "trader" based style character.... with hyper armor... they know they don't have much effort to do and be super offensive to win... everytime i miss a parry they can be even more offensive..so i gotta get the first to kinda discourage them to be to offensive but most of the times they keep trying and hoping it work... because they know it wotk against most people most of the times...
It means "Core Combat Update".Originally Posted by Maxime_Qc- Go to original post
I believe there are threads about it pinned above.
Edit: just checked. It is not posted anymore. I suggest searching "for honor ccu" in google.
I think this basically summarizes it.
Basically:
1. The first 100ms of the attack animation is hidden for the opponent.
2. Feint animation made more subtle, you will have less time to realize it was a feint.
3. Stamina costs were standardized. Light attacks cost 9 stamina, Heavy attacks cost 12 stamina. Being parried or blocked doesn't consume stamina. Feinting costs 8 (?), softfeints have either no additional cost, or in some cases they cost 6 stamina.
4. All light attacks have a smaller hitstun, which means that you can dodge almost instantly if a light attack hits you. This means you have the ability to dodge in time in every situation before a light chain's second attack hits you (excluding undodgables of course).
5. Frame advantage is standardized. If you hit your opponent with a Heavy finisher, or if it is blocked, you keep the momentum and if both of you do the same thing after that, you beat him. Light attacks, on the other hand, are always frame disadvantaged, if a light finisher hits you, you can act before your opponent (so if you throw back a light, and he continues the spam, your light will beat his). There are some special lights that still give frame advantage, but these are not normal chain lights: a bash followup after Warmonger's claw or Warlord's light, the softfeint knife stabs of Shaman (but not Peacekeeper's), the guaranteed light followup after certain heavy attacks (Lawbringer, Peacekeeper, Shinobi), and as far as I know, Shinobi's parry counter follows this rule.
6. Damage is generally lower. Light attack avarage went from 15 to 12, Heavy attack avarage from 30-35 to 25-28, the very damaging 45-50 damage attacks turned into 30-35 damage moves. This means a Lawbringer won't delete your hp just because he parried your light attack once.
