Breakpoint has, quite literally, thousands of different possible ways to customize your character. The gear and textures are incredibly well detailed, and I've seen some amazing looks that people come up with.
To suddenly have all of these options and creative customizations taken away during cutscenes is absolutely baffling to me. No eyewear, masks, headgear, backpacks - Even our own customized weapons are taken away and replaced with a generic pistol.
This is unacceptable. We want to see our gear and our weapons in the cutscenes. It matters because it's fun to see; it looks cool to watch our character with all of the gear that we've put work into obtaining and customizing have moments to truly shine during cutscenes. This is a video game - No gamer, ever, said they want their unique gear taken away during cutscenes.
FIX: Show ALL of our own gear during cutscenes! Headgear, backpacks, facewear, eyewear, weapons, unique pouches on vests and belts - It is not limited to this list. Show EVERYthing! It's our gear and we want to see it!
Thank you for reading.
The problem is that the only weapon you are required to equip is a pistol. Thus, its the only thing they can guarantee you will have. They should be able to use your specific pistol in cutscenes. But, aside from that I get why this is the way it is. We saw this with the Mass Effect games and a few others. It simply comes down to players not necessarily carrying the same weapons and having to have different animations for different weapon types. Not to mention all the potential clipping issues that would result from this. Basically, any time you see Nomad in a cutscene you'd have to have animations for people who only equipped a pistol, people that have assault rifles, shotguns, or SMGs, etc. Lengths of the weapon, and accessories change how Nomad grips them. This would create incredible complexity and it would more than quadruple the amount of animations required for cutscenes.
I want them to show Nomad the way I intended him to look, using the weapons I selected as much as any of you. Unfortunately, from a technical perspective, I doubt it will ever happen. The best we could hope for is them not unequipping our headgear and keeping our backpacks and using our pistols.
Custom weapons were shown in Wildlands no problem. Gamers want to see their own gear/weapons in the cutscenes, that's one of the best parts!Originally Posted by Spamfritter1701 Go to original post
I read that GR: Breakpoint and AC: Odyssey run on the same game engine, Anvil 2. I did read that the reason they wanted helms off in Odyssey was because "they wanted players to see the players emotions in cutscenes". But why not let players decide that for themselves? give us the option to have headgear on or off in cutscenes. That is assuming of course that its not a technical issue that just makes it harder for them to do. I say harder and not impossible since Odyssey has a glitch involving photomode that lets helmets show up in cutscenes.
