I think I just died the same number of times in 5 minutes as my entire time owning the game.
I'm just barely joking.
Level 3 CP. Nothing hard about it. Killed 4 times. Every time by Outcast Jihad rushers. Unstoppable Jihad rushers. I swear, I don't think any other enemy types were even there. Just a seemingly endless wave of suicide bombers. It was ridiculous and I have never seen anything like it before. Very weird but let's move on.
Cleared the CP and headed to the next. A random heavy. Nothing out of the ordinary. I take him down immediately but get one shotted by something I never even saw. Even looking around in my death camera, nothing there. Respawn and head to the CP I was headed for. I get to the red X that marks the spot of my death and BOOM. I just dropped dead. Respawn to a different safe house. There's something wrong with this area. Leave the safe house and BOOM. I dropped dead. Again, no NPC in the area.
Respawn at the White House and head to the red X. Almost there and BOOM. On the floor.

Also notice my health goes down when i get shot / hit with explosion and my armour stays high ?. why ?. Some weird things going on in the game of late . devs ninja nerfs to us and buffs to the enemy ..
Not sure if this is related but I also notice that whenever you are fighting in an area that has a lot of explosions you can see them explode over and over again, just by going away and return. This also happens in missions a lot, even if the mission is completed and you walk arround you can still see the explosion (and fire) go off. Apart from all this it does happen shots don't register or simply to late (cheating game engine) so rushers can get close enough to do their damage, even when they were actually killed at distance.Originally Posted by mckrackin5324 Go to original post
It might be designed like this in the same way it happened in TD1 were rushers never got caught in AI grenades. Explosion were delayed until they were out of red circle so status effect didn't apply to them. As for the sudden damage, it happens and I think it is game mechanic. The server decides you take damage and it's simply applied, whether there are NPCs close or not. Seen this happen as well, even when you think you are totally covered from all sides (inside buildings).
I think going out of the game and login again can solve some of those issues, maybe server instance was bugged or connection (e.g. response times) not that great.
That happened to us last night at 100th level in Summit too. Armor full, even blue bonus on (Adrenaline Rush, Vanguard), shields up and full, all enemies were in front of us, although we took damage to health directly, without a visible or near source. Not to mention the incredible spam with grenades and drones, almost all the time. The drone controller send two of them at once and by the time that drones arrives to our position he send another two, and those drones are moving extremely fast being hard to hit in flight, so we have four explosions in ~2 seconds. After a short pause, this is repeating over and over again until we manage to kill that controller who is hiding in cover in the far end of the room.
Same for grenadiers, minitanks and warhounds who send three grenades per second. If you have a drone controller, one or two grenadiers, one minitank and one warhoud in the area who are firing in the same time, there will be a genuine war out there. Cherry on top is heavy gunner with giant stinger hive in his backpack, and we had runs with all mentioned above in the same time for a total of ~30 NPCs (based on mission statistics at the end).
In the next run we had a total of ~10 NPCs in all waves, no drone controller, no heavy gunner, no warhounds, just two snipers and one grenadier. Speaking about inconsistency in this game... a game of extremes, either full of enemies or lacking of them, nothing in between.
We also tought that could be some server connection issue, some lag or desync, but it happened two days in a row in different sessions, so it can't be just a coincidence. And now became almost impossible to play with shield, almost every hit you take is by ”magic bullet” (special ammo) that deactivate your shield instantly. Almost all NPCs on the map have special ammo now, whether we have directives active or not. This never occurred before last Tuesday update. Something was changed in game mechanics, for sure.

And for the first time in MONTHS I've gotten the shield bug where the skill is permanently greyed out until you restart the client.
Seems like the servers are under heavy strain or maybe DDoS attack?

It isn't server related, unless incidentally. I imagine this will be far worse under heavy server loads (ie. TUs, event starts, etc.) or other degradations. Initially, I suspected decreased hit boxes on suicide bombers and strike drones. Now, I suspect multivariate discrete AI behavior buffs in TU12 (or subsequent patch): speed, damage, accuracy, and detection ranges. The speed increase isn't discrete, however. It's cartoonish. When combined with an increased TU12 prevalence of sound glitches [ie. threat cues, skill usage (ie. Alt-F4ing and reinserting while grouped)], upon which the gaming experience is dependent in this bullet-sponge universe, a player can be more easily overwhelmed.
So, taking health damage directly, with full armor, is unusual? I was going to mention it but thought maybe I was imagining it or some weird talent was keeping my armor up while taking health damage.
I noticed that when my DPS build takes that kind of damage, I'm stuck in the bleed screen effect and mobility limits for a LONG time. I mean a full minute sometimes. Til the end of the encounter at any rate.
I'll add that while I'm suffering the bleed, I not only have full armor but most of my armor bar is blue with bonus armor.
