I can agree with your statements concerning Gryphon's kick, the damage of the guaranteed heavy follow-up is too high, IMO it should be somewhere between 18 and 24. The speed of the move is not that bad, MAYBE it should be 533 ms instead of 500 maybe it shouldn't, who knows, BUT the kick itself is fine, because if you dodge it you get a gb, therefore guaranteed damage and the opportunity to start you own chain and mix-ups.
Give Gryphon some time! Eventually we will get used to him.
