The kick is slightly delayed, yes? As in, it takes a second to activate, but doesn't show that it's been activated right away?Originally Posted by UbiYubble Go to original post
How about just showing the unblockable status a little earlier than it does, allowing a slightly bigger reaction window?
Or just slowing it down but adding a feint/soft feint option into it?
Or making it even faster but not giving a free heavy from it. Just make it reset the chain or something and keep a combo rolling? Have it so the kick can wall bash and THEN you get a free heavy.
This mixup probably wouldn't work if the kick was slower or reactable. The reason it seems so oppressive is because the guy's only been out a week, and people are probably still getting used to him. Freeze explained the kick speed and damage on a recent video, and I honestly agree with him on it.Originally Posted by UbiYubble Go to original post

Completely agree with this video.Originally Posted by MCBooma16 Go to original post
Please, don't let some pathetic noobs throwing tantrums ruin a completely viable and balanced hero. You have done it multiple times, and you won't satisfy them, they will find an other hero to complain about as soon as they lose a game.
I think the kick speed is fine. Its the high damage that you can get off of it is a little oppressive. Change the heavy attack into a light attack which will allow you to chain more into a combo, might be a bit more effective. That way after the double light, the player can react and the damage isn't as high as the heavy.
A free guardbreak against a move that grants a light on success sounds like a move nobody would use. And as many said above, including Freeze, this mixup is completely okay.Originally Posted by PanzerShrekonin Go to original post
Gryphon risks a guardbreak punish for 28 damage, or a succesful undodgeable light for a light parry punish.
Compared to:
Shaolin risks a guardbreak with a kick for a strong light attack, or a heavy punish with the undodgeable dodge heavy.
Black Prior risks a dodge attack with the chained bash for a light attack, or a heavy parry for the undodgeable heavy finisher.
Lawbringer risks basically nothing with the chained shove for a light, or a heavy parry for a side heavy.
People complaining should understand the mixup first. The hero is out for one weak...
Please don't listen to these players. The kick speed is fine. It has a punish that is a trade-off for what it can do. The recovery time on it is good. If you miss, you get punished. If it hits, the enemy gets punished. If you nerf the kick, like you did to Highlander, he will become another light spammer... like Highlander. Also, the damage is cosistant with everyone else. You have actually released a balanced hero. Do not nerf him because people cannot dodge an attack that is obvious once you study his kit.Originally Posted by UbiYubble Go to original post
Dash attack = prep for a kick
Two attacks = prep for a kick
Guard break = prep for a kick
It gets no simpler. These people just don't learn.
maybe PK was super buffed but now she is only better than shinobi...I started to main her when she was nerfed so heavily that no one used them in my matches so I was curious why and started to play with her, almost 1 and a half after I can erase most gryphons with her in 4vs4 and duels, is just a matter of knowing when to dodge, comparing her with him is like comparing orange to apples, she is right now among the three most weak heroes. He can be defeated once you study his mixes but the error is to think this is a REACTION game...it was, but not anymore, griphon is easier to read than BP or conqu or Astrea.sorry for the bad english.
