Abu, with your willing to to train you will master FH quickly. Is good to hear new players are willing to try the training arena. Something a lot of forists can`t do IDK why.
I can train for over 6 hours straight...that`s why gryphons barely touch my pk.

Homever as Raime said, any hero can be played like that. You can do infinite chain with zerk and most noobs would fall, you can still do it in higher level and sometimes your attacks will land, but the rival will adapt to it... you can do it all over with a whiff or with a feint with gb so he is never sure again. But yeah that is not so braindead anymore.

orochi lightspam and kensei dodge attack spam are another examples, also bp bash spam but the diference is that BP has a effective bash that also cut your stam regen for a few seconds...any hero that has these kind of bash is potentially a tier s in duels.the three have braindead combos but the BP one is a braindead combo that can take you to great master level in ranked.

I don`t see gryphon as difficult or anything , sure he is easy to learn but i´m sure that in the next months players that main him will surprise us with smart mix ups. After all not many pk players know dodge cancels and how to use that to lure , bait or obtain deflects...and pk is simple as .... even gryphon has more options lol

    His dodge is JJ.
His kick is BP bash with a free top heavy.((The kick isn't the issue. Its the free top heavy that does -way- too much damage.))
The speed of his attacks are extremely fast for heavies.
You can never tell if its a heavy or a light attack because they are all telegraphed the same.
He hits like a truck regardless.

There is no downside to him. He -is- very much overtuned/overpowered/brain dead easy mode.

He's old JJ before JJ's nerf... so yes... he is OP/braindead easy.

Except there's nothing similar between BP's bash and Gryphon's kick aside from the fact that they both come from in chain. Their tracking values are different. Delay values are different. You can't punish BP's bash mid chain unless you have a dodge attack. But everyone can get a GB on reaction from dodging the kick. And the damage if you're only looking at what other characters get off a bash is high. But if you look at the mix up values and compare them to other mix ups it's the exact same. Just flipped around.

His heavies are on par with pretty much every other hero. if you compare moves 1:1. all of his regular heavies are 800ms. Which is average. His dash heavy is 800ms and is unfeintable. His side dodge heavy is 600ms and unfeintable. The only slow side dodge heavies that exist are JJ and Tiandi and those are for mix ups.

Your post is just plain misinformation.

Then I dunno cause his heavies are coming out faster on my end faster than a wardens heavy which I can parry with ease. And his dodge is still JJ level. The frames on the dodge actually allow him to dodge most attacks with ease while others not so much.

Warmongers dodge is awful in comparsion because she still gets smacked quite easily while Gryphon does not. Take highlander for example. Go offensive form, use the kick and then into the grab. one dodge from Gryphon negates BOTH. Warmonger will get hit by the second attack.

And you cannot dodge him at all or you get hit with the kick. You are forced to guess on the parry and guess what he throws out because its untelegraphed.

This is like saying Centurion on release wasn't broken because you could just dodge his attacks. This is silly that we're going to defend the hero thats dominating right now. It doesn't take that long to learn a character.

Every new hero dominates for a while due to no one really knowing how to counter, but Knight Raime is absolutely correct. Gryphon isn't broken. Him and Warmonger were both very balanced at release, minus the OP feats on Warmonger of course, but the moveset has always been well balanced.

If Gryphon's heavies feel fast, you may have some serious latency issues. They feel slow as molasses for me when I throw them out.

Jj, Tiandi, and Kensei all have better side dodge attacks for avoiding a hit. Gryphon's is just like Kensei's except a little faster but then smaller dodge distance too. If Gryphon's dodge attack is so problematic, then you should instead complain about one of those 3 heroes.

You should see Gryphon's at high level. They gettin light parried like it's nothing because everyone expects the average Grpyhon to spam the double tap light for access to the kick. Lol

JJ's dodge attack is feintable and has more I frames. Gryphon's only leg up is that it's faster. It's more comparable to Kensei than JJ. WM gets smacked because she loses I frames once she inputs her bash or her unblockable heavy. Kick into grab on HL is pretty unfavorable for anyone who has a dodge attack so that's not really new.

There's zero reason to parry anything from Gryphon in his finisher state as none of it is threatening. Only his kick is. You can stuff his kick/delayed gb/heavy feint to GB anyway on an early read. And since his heavies have no reason for you to parry you can do anything from back walking into back dodge (from neutral) or simply make a prediction roll. Gryphon doesn't have a very good or consistent way to punish properly timed rolls and his kick lacks the range and tracking to deal with someone who's constantly spacing.

Gryphon being compared to launch Centurion is hilarious. WM released more oppressive than Gryphon did and she's rather easy to deal with. If it doesn't take long for you to learn a hero than I wonder why you started your argument with misinformation and you have yet to understand how unthreatening Gryphon is outside his bashes. It's good that he has so many ways to access his kick mix up because literally all of them are reactable and none of them are actually threatening. And because Gryphon risks comparable damage for using his kick often you can't simply go for the kick everytime it's available. Heck even trying to make a big brain read and commit to a heavy finisher for stuff attempts isn't a good idea because the armor isn't fast enough to trade on early timing. And your heavy is slow enough that it's an easy reaction parry.

I find Kensei and Gyrphon dodge to be the same because like take Highlander for example. His kit is meant to stop people from side dodging/Back dodging when doing the kick and the grapple attacks, but the grapple will never connect because the dodge moves you out of the way. The same is for alot of attacks that follow up in a comob. Like a light and then a heavy from warmonger will miss completely because of that. I was playing Highlander in dominion today and I couldn't land a single grapple because the side dodge always put them out of the way where was I would smack down anyone that didn't have a similar dodge.

and you might be right that its latency issues... I am playing a 4 v 4 mode constantly because brawls are dead at this time of day. So latency could play a big part in why I am having a -very- hard time in fighting Gryphons.

When it comes to fighting a new hero, if you don't have perfect latency, you'll miss stuff, just because your brain hasn't enough time yet to auto compensate for his kit. There is no muscle memory to counter his kit. If that makes sense... lol

That's exactly my thoughts. The dodge attack and the kick makes him a bash spammer/ dodge spammer at first, but his kit has tools to build mix-up that can be interesting. A lot of mind game with this hero and I like it. In fine, if you can react to anything any hero can throw at you, this game would be bland and boring. (like fighting centurion, when you know his move you understand that this hero is just an opportunist who do massive damage to people who panic, otherwise he is quit easy to deal with)

My friend, the training area i what impressed me the most in this game. After the tutorial I did go to the pvp and I was like "what the hell am I supposed to do with this tutorial "training"? "
Then you spend time in the training and you see of modular it is, honestly there is no excuses, any difficulty you encounter in this game, you can overcome it by setting a bot in the training. I'm kind of a impulsive guy and I know that I will learn nothing in the battlefield, so it's not uncommon for me to spent some hours in this training, and I clearly see the results in game. And to be honest, the lvl3 bots play better than a LOT of player I meet in the multi hehe. But thank you !
