I dont understand this move from Sony. Pulling it out of ps4 would make sense, but CB is nowhere as bad as Breakpoint for example.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
It all feels like everynoe is happy that CD have problems so it will be medialized just like Unity was smashed and to this day I dont get it because Unity was the best and revolutionary game Ubi ever made despite its initial technical issues.
Breakpoint on the other hand is the worst title they made in their history.
IDK... when you grab it up half price on a flash "sorry its delayed" sale, why not. Best $25 gaming investment I have made.Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
It wasn't a Sony decision from what I understand. It was a CDPR decision because of the problems. Sony apparently doesn't like giving refunds, so CDPR decided to have them pull it until it is fixed.Originally Posted by Sefin_CZ Go to original post
Bone is right. CDPR made a statement to investors after the announcement from Sony that indicates the decision was made after discussions between the two on the subject of refunds for SIE customers.
"The decision was undertaken following our discussion with SIE regarding a full refund for all gamers who had purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store and want a refund at this time. "
They go on to say that physical copies are still available and support will continue. There is also mention of "until further notice" in regard to the games availability on PSN as I'd wager this is temporary. .....at least until CDPR can prove the product is in state worthy of being released.
At this point I'm going to hold on to my digital copy and see how it shakes out.
Uh... CP2077 is playable on next gen consoles. The foul up was on current gen. It isn't that it isn't playable on consoles, it isn't playable on some consoles.Originally Posted by Quimera2-98 Go to original post
Denounce CDPR all you want, it was Sony and Microsoft that tested it on current gen consoles and said it worked well enough to certify it gold.

I remember some mention the mountain errors. The PvP on my end use to freeze 1 minute after a 8 minute match start. Heck I remember the game use to get stuck at that 37, 38, or 39 percent. Players feeled under the map. The drone you deployed use to get stuck and you couldnt return to your character. There where times Xbox or PS players couldn't play which lead to console wars on the forums. Uplay gave some players problems. Some players guns use to disappear from the loadout when starting pvp and they just have a pistol. Some experienced no good could be use with the gun sticking out they chest unable to do anything. Between the servers and bugs Breakpoint held the crown imo. Some had to wait days, weeks, months to play. There was way more than that. Did you forget or did you start Breakpoint late?
This is why I use the ignore feature. I had him on mine long before this discussion ever started for the same reasons I would again now.Originally Posted by Bone_Frog Go to original post
Anyhow, I'm on an original release PS4 and the game is still playable for me. That's not to say it's not buggy as hell but the only "game-breaking" issues I experienced that would have made CP "unplayable" for me were the BSODs of which I have had 4 in about 20+ hours of gameplay and 3 of those were after playing 2+ hours at a time.
I'm not making excuses for CDPR releasing the game in this state but the fact is, underneath the bugs and performance issues is a game I like. I think they deserve the shellacking they're getting albeit some more sophomoric and exaggerated than I think is warranted but I still understand CDPR customers / fans frustrations.
btw, CDPR released the following after those comments to investors addressing PS customers:
"Following our discussion with PlayStation, a decision was made to temporarily suspend digital distribution of Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation Store. You can still buy physical versions of the game in brick and mortar stores and online. All purchased digital and physical copies of the game will continue to receive support and updates as we continue to improve your experience.
According to our knowledge, starting today, everyone who is not willing to wait for updates and wants to refund their digital copy of the game, can do so by submitting a request at https://www.playstation.com/cyberpunk-2077-refunds/.
We are working hard to bring Cyberpunk 2077 back to PlayStation Store as soon as possible."
I can only assume they are in discussions with MS to extend the same offer to XB customers as well but who knows.
I say shame on them for releasing such an unrefined product as a full release but I can also recognize the fact they are not the first to do this and I give them kudos for actually doing something you rarely see in the industry to compensate for it. I have the option (if I wanted) to get my money back for my purchase. I can't say the same for other games that I've purchased (or almost purchased) that were bug ridden, were sold under false pretenses, etc.
At least this statement helps clarify that the pull form the PSN store is temporary and that development will continue as planned. ......and I'm ok with that gamble so I'll keep my copy.
I don't think the certification process contains much in the way of game bug or glitch testing, Bone. As I understand it, It is more of an assurance activity where the compliance is demonstrated through evidential confirmation statements. What is your approach to patching etc, what is the file size, what load will the game put on CPU etc. The compliance will be audited and checked and will probably focus on where the game interacts with user functions of the console operating system; saving data to the console, game chat, working with peripherals etc. If there is any testing I think it will be more or less a smoke test and again focussed on operating system compliance to make sure the game won't brick the console. Please note; much speculation by me there.Originally Posted by Bone_Frog Go to original post
Why Sony may be annoyed and are considering a formal complaint could be down to irregularities in the compliance evidence. This could be why CPDR pulled the plug, although news reports here indicate that it was a Sony initiated decision. I suspect that we will see some more emerge on this over the coming weeks and months. CDPR must have known they had a massive risk but went with it instead of delaying again. If they underplayed that risk to Sony or Microsoft then heads will roll.
My understanding is that the cert is supposed to make sure it doesn't crash the system(which it apparently does on PS4). Textures, driving glitches and a lot of other stuff is down to the publisher. Essentially, from my read, neither side is clean in this.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
I've heard the same about the SIE certification process Blue but ultimately, the blame for the state of the game should be on CDPR's shoulders IMO, not SIE or MS for approving what they submitted. I never recall blaming my boss for an error found with my data, etc. that he/she may have sent up the chain. .....my project, my responsibility.
As for "news" reports about who did what, etc., I'm taking all that with a grain of salt. There is a lot of speculation, commentary, catchy headlines, etc. looking to stir the pot. I think it's obvious CDPR and SIE have been in discussions regardless of whose decision it was to pull the plug (temporarily apparently).
Let's not forget that CDPR was the first to suggest unsatisfied customers to seek refunds and even offered help for those who had a problem getting one. .....albeit without SIE's approval apparently. SIE ended up blocking them but now they are doing what CDPR initially wanted. As for whether or not pulling the product from the PSN store was CDPR's decision, SIE's or both, we may never know the juicy details of those discussions.
Personally, I don't really care as it matters more to me what CDPR does with the game moving forward than disputes between SIE and their team. .....unless of course those affect the future development of CP.
