the letter chronicles
(Note that the Letter Chronicles take place after the siege and destruction of Wyrvendale and Eitrivatnen and is unofficial lore of For Honor.)
Letter 1
Arrived in 1 day and 3 hours with haste
To: Grand Knight Commander Danithin in Mt. Ignis
From: Knight Commander Haremdin in Lion Wastes
First "The Valley" and now Eitrivatnen, the capital of our homeland have fallen to these so called.. Horkos! We seemed to be holding them at the gates at first but then suddenly they somehow made entry into the city through the main gate, and clashed with our defenders. Our defenders were slaughtered like dogs, by these... soldiers in black armor, armor unlike anything we've seen since the days of Apollyon! What was left of our defenders and troops in the province managed to flee as the Horkos began to swarm the region. However amidst the battle in the courtyard the High King and High Prince joined the fight with the Kings Vanguard, managing to take back a few minor sections of the city before Horkos reinforcements swarmed into the cities and took back those sections. They managed to push the High King and Prince back to the cities palace, where the High King and Prince had vanished. Though despite most of our forces being slaughtered, we still have some in most provinces to start conducting a search. Until then, we hope this letter finds thee, Grand Commander Danithin.
Letter 2
Arrived in 5 days and 1 hour due to Horkos road blockades.
To: Knight Commander Haremdin in Shamdon's Spine
From: Grand Knight Commander Danithin in Mt. Ignis
It is terrible to hear of what happened at the "The Valley" and our capital! But you MUST find the High King and High Prince immediately, without any delay! I will however remain in Mount Ignis. We've managed to repel Horkos attackers twice and hold the damned Volcano, who knew lava would make a great barrier. But aside from that find the High King and the Prince, I will hold Mount Ignis and prevent any Warlords from rising in this region. Find them both at all costs.
Letter 3
Arrived in 2 days and 5 hours by eagle.
To: Grand Knight Commander Danithin in Mt. Ignis
From: Black Agent in Eitrivatnen
The High King is dead, his body is dismembered.. his arms, legs, and head is scattered upon his throne as his entrails spill from his guts to cover the main seat of the throne, His head is mounted upon a pike above the throne with cursed runes carved into his forehead. The Kings Vanguard has been decimated, they litter the Throne Rooms floor. The High Prince's body is no where to be found.. This may mean that he escaped, the only evidence of this is a coded letter he might've left inside one of the hidden brick safes in the throne room. The coded message had said "NORTH" and "Gronstad". The High Prince must've headed North to group up with our Viking allies in Gronstad, we will dispatch agents as soon as possible to look for Ashfeld's heir. Now as for the city. The city is mostly destroyed it's citizenry recruited or slaughtered by its Horkos conquerors. Runes are spread throughout the city humming cursed tones. Black pulsating veins hang and scatter across the city, carrying disease and the so called "Warmongers" curse. We will inform you with more information as soon as possible.
Five more letters were sent out to other commanders revealing battle plans, even a plan to retake the capital. However a Horkos battalion got their hands on the messenger. Bringing the five messages to their leaders and resulted in the deaths of three Black Agents and a disastrous chain of defeats for The Kingdom of Ashfeld. Including the taking of Mount Ignis from Grand Commander Danithin, who retreated into the Myre past the Blackstone Hills and into Cinis. This would cause more damage to the Kingdom's Armies, because they would have lost another great symbol of their pride and glory, and lost communications with the Grand Knight Commander. These five messages/letters were destroyed by the Horkos.
(Would like to remind everyone that this is a non-official lore story. This is a story that I was inspired to start because of Ubisofts terrible lore makers. So I decided to start a story that would try to make sense. If someone would like to critique me that would be amazing! Thank you for reading this short story.)
