We have been SCREAMING for an optimization station for EVER. So we finally get it. Now I have a reason to log back in, run around aimlessly shooting things to get items that suck.... but now I can just dismantle then for parts instead of selling for cash which I have a ton of since all the gear I pick up even in Heroic all the time.. sucks. Now I play for a few hours doing level 4 control points, a few heroic missions.... time to go to the optimization table so see what I can do. Oh... wait... I need to deconstruct 156 MGs to get enough points to get ONE optimization run.... what! Are you people out of your mind? What common person like me who can play this game a few hours a week (because we actually have a life) is ever going to be able to optimize anything?
why do you people always make things that the average person will never get? Can you not create a single player game that a solo player could enjoy playing a few days a week? Is that really so hard? Ok rant over. Closed the game AGAIN, and moving on finally for good to another game. Playing this has long since become zero fun. Im pretty much out of trying this again after the 5th chance I gave it.
I have to agree with you Im4Givn, the optimisation requirements are crazy. It will take me several days to optimise something for 0.1 point. So the LMG that I use currently with 13.7 main damage will take 13 optimisation runs just for that one attribute. Then there is everything else. It will take years.
Forget it.
Make things easier for casual players, and "dedicated" players complain there's nothing to play for. Make things harder to acquire and casual players whine about "having a life"
Disclaimer - this response is not arguing for the optimization costs, but pointing out the challenges of getting it right.
I mean, there are no shortage of threads on this topic::Originally Posted by Trep06 Go to original post

Compare their numbers. How many casual players and how many hardcore players? Also, which subset is spending money on cosmetics and such?Originally Posted by dagrommit Go to original post
If they seriously did this, they'd see that financially, the hardcore players don't matter. It's a tiny portion of the player base. This is just facts. Not taking sides.
I'm still on the fence about this. It appears that you can craft bundles of the needed materials at the crafting station using normal materials. And we weren't using those normal materials for anything besides the weekly exotic cache anyway.Originally Posted by Im4Givn Go to original post
I haven't decided yet if the grind is egregious yet. I'm letting the passive income of materials soak in first to see if it's really as much of a PITA as it first appears before getting riled up.
It's a live service game. They can tell what proportion of the player base are casual or spend money, and make a decision based on ROI. No need to make unsubstantiated claims.Originally Posted by mckrackin5324 Go to original post
FYI, you can also get materials from the SHD watch.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
To be clear, I've never particularly cared about the optimization station. It's a way to skip the frustration of grinding for god rolls, but who cares when you don't need god rolls?I haven't decided yet if the grind is egregious yet.
