Wow, you put a LOT of effort into this… You have some good points, but first person only is an absolute no-go for me! Why not just add both? Just let the host decide the preferences. For example: first person only, first and third or third only. In offline story: First or third.

Also comparing this to Dark souls? Seriously? Dark souls is one of those games where I had the feeling that I am not playing a fighter, but a basement nerd who never did any kind of sport in her/his entire live. Also, your focus is mainly on hardcore multiplayer veterans and 24h players. No offense, itīs great that you have so much time for that, but I simply donīt...

This is Operator Drewski's video, It isn't owned by GAP_Computer.
I think he makes a lot of points that a reasonable, lets just hope Ubisoft take some of these suggestions and make an amazing next game!

as BAYZY_XB posted, the video isn't made by me, but for sure Drewski's have a lot of good points on his video, I'm pretty sure many folks in the forum will love to see lot of the features described in the video in a future Ghost Recon game (if there is any game after this one)

    @GAP_Computer
Thanks for posting this. Many of his ideas are representative of what a lot of us in the GR community have been asking for in this franchise since before WL’s release and continued to here in the Breakpoint forum.

I know some will just push it aside as someone trying to make GR into a milsim experience but even Drewski continually mentions that is not what he is trying to do. ….and as he said and what I still believe in, realism isn’t boring if it’s done right.

In fact, I would argue that it can actually help simplify the game play and create a focus more on the gunplay and tactics by eliminating RPG mechanics, perks, special abilities, magical weapon / kit leveling, etc. People complain about the complexities of realistic attributes yet RPG mechanics in games like TD1 & 2 (which Breakpoint borrowed from btw) can be frustrating itself to fully understand. At least the armor, damage, weapons, weapon accessories, etc. and how they affect your characters skills and so on would make a hell of a lot more sense to me.

Game modes aside for now, a lot of what Drewski proposes to have implemented in GR would be more relatable to people in how armor, guns, gun accessories, camouflage, etc. work in the game. Components of the game that affect your abilities in a more realistic and believable way. No perks, no special powers, no items imbued with magical abilities, no “tiers”, etc. Instead, more realistic and authentic aspects introduced to the game that just make more sense and add to the immersiveness of the game play.

If you want examples of how some of these mechanics might work in a more “game and go” model, look no further than CoD:MW. IW chose to turn their efforts toward the weapons in the game and the weapon accessories and focus on the gunsmith as the star of the show. That is what drove your character’s stats with upgrades that were grounded more in reality. GR should be doing something similar and taking it even further considering its roots leaning toward a more hardcore experience by comparison.

As for the game modes he proposes, personally, I think it’s too much for a franchise like GR but I would like to see them at least get back to their roots and borrow what was good from past games. That’s not to say I am opposed to what he suggests. I would love it. …..but I think it’s a bit much for a GR game although I still believe there is still a lot there that can be borrowed to make a better experience in the next iteration of the series. As he says, it still needs to be accessible.

I love the idea of your choice of camouflage having a direct affect on your level of concealment, kit affecting armor rating, weight of items affecting stamina and maybe even sound signature, more realistic ammo management, less reliance on marking / HUD aids to encourage communication / team play, more realistic ballistics, damage, etc.

He has a lot of great ideas and I agree with the general notion that the GR franchise should go more in this direction.

I am still new to this forum, but your posts are like everywhere! And most of them are a short novel. I am going to skip them from now on. Canīt get that south park episode out of my head whenever I see that bird face in your avatar.

I am just talking about the room atmosphere, preparation and behaviour during he writes, not the trolling. Your novels are not bad, but… have you ever heard a girl who told you that you talk too much and should get to the point a bit more quickly? No? “You talk too much! Get to the point more quickly!

You didn't need to read my whole reply to see it started with "@GAP_Computer".

As you mentioned, you're new here and being the nice guy i am I'm going to assist by giving you a little tip that might help with your apparent aversion to me or my posts.....

Click on the Settings option at the to of this page. On the left hand column toward the bottom there will be a section labeled "My Settings" with a subsection called "My Account". Select "Edit Ignore List" and add my name. Viola!... You no longer need to read my post let alone even see them. They will be blocked when you log into the site.

    ....you're welcome!

Yeah, no worries GAP. I like Drewski's videos and think he's pretty spot on with a lot of his feedback on games. ....not everything but we share a lot of the same likes.

Hey, I donīt have an aversion towards you or your posts. As I said before, your opinion is not bad, so I constantly end up reading your whole replies. Even liked some of them. It just feels like I only read your opinion before I need to log out, because wherever I am, your post is already waiting to take my whole time! Now enjoy your dimmed light and glass of wine. I will not disturb your creative phase. I am sure your next novel will be a hit!

... Did I just read that someone recently joined a discussion forum, and then asked people to not discuss so much because they don't want to read it all?

    No offense intended Tigress.
    Welcome to the forum.
