You can only purchase exotic upgrade blueprints in DC, so if I have a character at level 30 and purchase exotic upgrade blueprints, when they go to New York can I upgrade exotics there to their current level all the way up to level 40 before I complete all the missions and can travel back to DC?
Or do I have to wait until I do and upgrade them when I get back to DC. I ask because all the YouTube videos I have seen on upgrading exotics to level 40 show it being done in DC not New York.
Once you go to New York you cannot go back to DC until you have completed the campaign. When you already have completed all missions in New York with another character, or have one at DC you can purchase the upgrade blueprints with those. So maybe this will make it possible to use them at the crafting station in New York with the character that is doing the campaign.
I have found the answer to my question, if you go to New York the first time and take exotics that are level 30 with you, you can't upgrade them even if you have the upgrade blueprints already until you reach level 40. I tried this when I was level 35 and it says the crafting bench is not a high enough level.
My advice is not to do the final warlords missions until you reach level 40, then you can upgrade and use your exotics.
