For solo, Aces is actually VERY good, but I'm sure it's garbage in groups while everyone else locks things down and goes full DPS. But I wonder how your TotS build holds up in solo play without teammates feeding you spec ammo.

These kinds of things are kind of important to be clear about.
I play solo or duo almost exclusively with MMRs, and I'd definitely put Aces alongside Striker and OD as the worst sets. Tip of the Spear blows Aces out of the water for sniping if you use Headhunter, it's not even close.

Yeah, Headhunter made Aces superfluous. They need to reintroduce a group buff again, imho.

Since this is my opinion and not an all powerful fact, I vote by lack of usage. If it was really good, I'd be using the set. So, that put's Hunter's Fury at the top of the list. Tried it a few times, it doesn't work for me.

This is mainly due to my playstyle. I'm a support player. I always have been in online games. Eclipse Protocol / Future Initiative / Hard Wired / True Patriot are my go-to sets. Negotiator's Dilemma is decent as a control method.

I want to like Aces, but sharpshooting in general is frustrating. Through the scope all mobs' heads look like car dashboard bobblehead dolls. Turns me off to marksman rifles as a whole, which is a shame since Aces was a set I was really looking forward to using.

Edit: bah. wrong chest.. I have an EC that is rolled Skill Core I normally use [had the other on when doing Spec Weapon kills recently]

Currently using an Everyday Carrier, to share my Survival Heals more [plus aRegen], but I've used various chests depending on level/mood/group. Sometimes I use Emperor's Guard instead of Sawyers.

Two of the Blue Pips, are Hazard , one is aRegen [all over 80%], the Yellow is max Skill Repair, EC is max Skill Damage + 7.5 Explosive. Hive is for some levels if I/we don't have a healer, otherwise I swap it back for the Drone.

    Ongoing Directive

Striker at least has the 3 piece bonus going for it.

TOTS can make specialized weapon shine specialy if you play a sharpshooter buil. Tac50 ammo regular drop coupled with the self generated ammo allow you to play the tac really often.
Ongoing to my surprise isn't considered the worst of all. Maybe he is usefull in pvp, but in pve the bledd damage nerf ruined it.

It might not be the worst but compared to how amazingly fun it used to be, negotiators dilemma is first. That set used to be a blast to play with until it was nerfed into Oblivion.

Went and farmed a max rolled Aces holster to do a fair comparison. Using an all max rolled build with an AH backpack w/ Vigilance, Chainkiller and White Death and all buffs up, ToTS maxed out at 26.3m, Aces maxed out at 25.5m.

Not only is the ToTS buff easier to proc and maintain in addition to granting free spec ammo, it also out damages Aces while being usable with all weapon types.

The only use case I could see for Aces is maybe if you main an SVD and don't like Headhunter, but even then I'd prefer to run ToTS and a Braced chest. Or you know.. a rifle instead, so as to actually have ammo.

As a solo sniper, running ToTS with Survivalist for the crossbow could help a ton against Black Tusk dogs and heavies also.

Some of the sets have problems not because of what they are but because hit registration is bad and skills have a mind of their own.

I think what we can all agree on is that there are a number of pretty bad sets that take far too much niche play in order to make even halfway decent. They're not GOOD, even if you can think of a build that makes them word adequately.

Aces is almost completely outclassed by the single talent of Headhunter if your aim is good.
Striker 3pc is better than 4pc, which seems like a VERY flawed set.
Ongoing Directive looks good on paper, but struggles with the raw amount of mechanical enemies and heavies out there.
System Corruption is meant to be a PVP darkzone set, but sacrifices too much damage for a gimmick.
True Patriot has been nerfed into the ground.
TotS also sounds good on paper, but it all looks like gimmick builds that are outclassed by meta builds. Give it a buff.

I would really like to see all of these sets revisited and improved in some way.

Also, when are we going to get a set built around Pistols?
