I don't have enough time in game to have an educated opinion but for now, the set that's least attractive to me is Tip of the Spear. I use the Technician specialization 90% of the time and the signature weapon is all but unusable. That makes the set unusable.
EDIT... I use the rocket launcher. Sure. But only one target at a time. Every time I try to target multiple enemies, it kills me.
The +1 skill tier with Demolitionist is something I'd pay money for. lol
How in Gods name can you say TotS is the worst gear set ?? So a 40% dmg buff for a full minute is worse than building stacks in Strikers that unless you get 70% accuracy is useless ... ehhh, well alrighty then. Some of you guys need to do a bit of work on your build diversity an not just vote on a poll just because its there. My fave build RN is a 4pc Tips with Tardi and using the Firewall spec and using my Flamethrower for 75% of my dmg output - its works VERY well on Heroic on Summit. Every single kill with the flamethrower resets the Tardigrade CD so I can constantly protect me or my teammates.
TBH, I voted for Aces over Strikers, since as mentioned a 3pc Strikers is very useful (my raid build uses this, and a 3pc Strikers with Braced, Companion with a fixer drone and a Pesti is a real treat to use. Aces WAS an amazing set back in the day, and you were guaranteed to have at LEAST one guy running Aces on every raid 8 player team, but now its just a mess, as is sniping in this game.
I actually think its one of the better ones. I have a tots build that rips things to shreds anddoes a bucket load of damage.the aggressive recon 40% damage buff is pretty damn strong and relatively easy to keep up as it only requires damage bit kills..i run it with demo spec so the grenades make very short work of warhounds mini tanks or even enclosed spaces.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
If you compare it to something like ongoing directive where in groups you will often be struggling for hollowpoint ammo as other people will often be dealing the killing blow. or worse if your using snipers and you 1 shot the bleed doesnt even proc so you get no ammo back...
true patriot used to be ok but these days even thats a joke but thats more down the effect of blue stats in general than the set itself i think.
strikers is damn right awfull even a hint of latency and youve lost half your stacks as you fire bulets into an already dead corpse and they count as misses..
negotiators im not a big fan of namely because if im shooting at something i intend to kill it, not leave it alive to take advantage of its mark...
spear is a long way from being the worst gear set... it's strong its fun and its highly effective..

But we really should specify group or solo. Virtually all of my time is spent solo. I find matchmaking to be unreliable because of the way people abuse it for carries, not to mention I despise having to wait for other people to get their act together and actually reach the mission.
For solo, Aces is actually VERY good, but I'm sure it's garbage in groups while everyone else locks things down and goes full DPS. But I wonder how your TotS build holds up in solo play without teammates feeding you spec ammo.
These kinds of things are kind of important to be clear about.

TOTS in Sharpshooter is a great loadout for many Bosses in the Ironhorse Raid. The Tac 50 absolutely ruins the Boss 4 Chungas with the 40% and specialty weapon damage boost proc’d.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
Aces is disappointing because of what it was before, but it makes for a mean build if paired with Headhunter.
System Corruption gets my vote.
I agree with both, but have to put Stryker as 2nd worst only because I play on console, where the accuracy just goes out the window for this to be useful in many situations.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
TOTS is a 1 trick pony for a snipe build and that's it, and again, on console, sniping is just not as viable. I watch streams and youtubers who play on PC and can use things like TOTS, Focus, and such, and it's just not an option on console. Super jealous of that ability to aim, it just can't be done to the same degree on console.
SC could be great, but the cool down is off, and the damage percentages are off with other things out there now. If they would make it a 10 second cool down (7 with the vest), and amplified damage per 1% bonus armor up to 20%, then it would be viable. But it's so under powered the way it is, it's just not usable.
My TipS AFK build* disagrees with your one trick pony commentOriginally Posted by TxDieselKid Go to original post
I also use it for Events where I'm tasked with killing enemies via Spec Weapon [Demo Grenade Launcher]. Backpack gives you Spec Ammo every 60s, so I just run around open world one-shotting patrols.
It's a great way to buff your DPS [it's up for 60s] - between TipS [40%], Sawyer's [30%] and In-Sync [30%], my AFK build is pumping out 6+ WD cores! Looking forward to the new Named AR..

it's been said already but tips although could receive a buff has some pretty good uses when you build and play around it.
- I have two builds around tips one with reds using a headhunter chest , regulus and gunslinger. m44 and a mop. The mop makes short work of legendary enemies up close and the regulus with the gunslinger holster stack doesn't need further explaining.
- The other build is with yellows, btsu and a healing box(or tardigrade if i'm not running a healing box) . the other skill depends on what i'm doing at the time.
I use these mostly in the summit legendary
In both cases i focus on heavies, dogs, tanks, healers. All of which only need 1 arrow to make sure the rest of the team can burst them down super easy . With healers you can take their support station boxes out in 1 or 2 arrow shots.
The red build leaves more options to kill regular enemies. but the yellow build gives me plenty of options skill wise. damage , cc, healing..
Just some food for thought for those who say tips is the worst. It's really fun to use imo.
TL;DR It's not the best build but definitely not the worst out there.
