I posted this as part of a response in another thread but it most likely will be lost in the shuffle. What do you guys think of a Legendary Loot system? Say I can take 10 exotics and donate them to a single piece of gear. It then upgrades that piece to a Legendary gear piece and increases the attributes across the entire piece by 5%. This piece is then maxed out and the best the game can offer. Obviously this would take a long time to do over many builds, but would give the end game loot a real feeling of power and prestige. This would keep me busy for another 1500 hours. Maybe make it come with a skin to change the color to high polished reflective Platinum or something so that everyone knows you have a Legendary set on and reward a full Legendary set build with a platinum Hunter mask, sort of like Division 1 did when you built a full exotic build.
I'd say make everyone get the SHD watch to 1500 to unlock the ability to access the Legendary Loot ability. I know I would instantly be excited to play again and keep grinding at it. Something like this gives us the ability to still progress in the end game.
Worse? The point is to give players who have done all the content and acheived it all, the ability to still progress in the end game to a meaningful level. And if you make a new build, then it's 60 more exotics to farm to get it to Legendary level. For guys with 41 builds like me, that's 2460 exotics to farm to make all the pieces Legendary.Originally Posted by xcel30 Go to original post
I think you missed the point of doing it. Making a piece Legendary would boost it's MAXIMUM attribute values by 5% across the board. Instead of 15% weapon damage, a legendary piece would have 16%. Instead of 170,000 armor it would have 180,000.Originally Posted by xcel30 Go to original post
Like it or not, the devs have indicated that they don't want the game to be "easy". Drew said as much after the first WoNY rebalancing, and Trick reiterated that when justifying the Scorpio nerf. Allowing players to exceed the "maximum" values on gear would go against that ethos.Originally Posted by chicagolongball Go to original post
Minimal differences for how much is required. Seems like a waste of time.Originally Posted by chicagolongball Go to original post
Any increase in maximum percentages would be better off done through level / gear score increase, so that the maximum value gaps are much larger. At that point, we'd be regrinding builds all over, which I don't mind, but will piss a lot of people off. And, even if it wasn't done this way, if there are no new destinations that will stress test these new values where you'd actually need the 1% - 5% increase to complete the content, 5% will definitely not make a difference in the end.
what a game breaking... No really! Maybe it's time to move on?Originally Posted by chicagolongball Go to original post
That doesn't seem to stop the current griping about being a few % short of a god rollOriginally Posted by Merphee Go to original post
Yeah, a level cap increase tied to a map expansion and new activities would suit me fine.Any increase in maximum percentages would be better off done through level / gear score increase, so that the maximum value gaps are much larger. Ah yes, the "if it ain't max, it sucks" mentality.Originally Posted by dagrommit Go to original post![]()
