I'll be honest, I only just realized you can craft at any time, anywhere. I thought it was something you could do only when in a bivouac. But you can just press the Craft button, and make whatever you need whenever you want. This is insanely overpowered. Run out of sync shot drones? Just make seven more. Run out of grenades or rockets? Just make more and keep going. Run out of syringes? Go ahead and pause the game to craft more.
Resources are abundant; I have never run dry on any resources at any time. So if I do need something on the fly, I can just make it. It's made the game so much easier that I actually have to force myself not to do this. With the game's emphasis on survival and being outnumbered, crafting things mid-combat just to keep your edge up is an ability that's far too powerful and immersion breaking.
Fix: Add an option to be able to set crafting availability while in a bivouac only, or at anytime.
Thanks!
Great idea. Alternatively, you could have an option to craft in the field, but after you've selected what you're crafting, you have to sit through a crafting animation before you can use the items. The more items you want to craft, the longer the animation takes. During this crafting time, you'd be vulnerable to the enemy.
A simple risk vs reward system.
Old Shells - two good spots
Centre of Good Hope Mountain province, Camp Weasel, by Moon Lake
They're scattered all over the hill above the subterranean base. Plenty to be found there.
Centre North of Restricted Area 01, Camp Ferret, North of Blue Lake and Pleasant Island
Again, scattered all over the hill above the subterranean base. Quite a few to be found there.
