each time i log in i have to ask.. "whats left to do".. run around for a bit, shoot stuff, consider build changes and log out

and the next season will be a re-skin of the previous season, so its going to be hard to stay motivated when the only thing im looking forward to is the additional inventory space

I don't expect there will be any new content dropping, so no new maps, levels, etc. That doesn't concern me because games rarely remain in active development as long as this one has.

If I was the decision maker, I would task the team with making the classified missions replay able with difficulty scaling and rewards scaling accordingly, then I'd open that to all as a a final set of content. I'd tweak the RNG to give the year one pass buyers a little bit of an increased chance at god rolls or rare items.

I see no reason seasons and manhunts can't just continue on the same cycle, and even new items introduced. Hopefully they have factored the gear and weapons and RNG tables out of the code base so they are modifiable without going through a full development cycle with code change.

I don't really see4 any reason this game can't go on perpetually. New content isn't going to bring new players to the game. But fixing bugs and balance would keep less people from quitting the game.
the only thing i fully disagree with you, is the fact that Massive and ubisoft labled division 2 as Live service, untill the death of the game you should be releasing content even small things frequently, patch bugs, fix exploits, care for the game in general. they've fully lied about "Live Service" and its just as i call a Forced internet only game, nothing about this game makes it Live service, look at WoW or FFxiv or even any generic F2P model game, those are what you should call Live Service, because the service you get keeps comming, hell, even call of duty Modern warfare managed to keep their playerbase entertained for longer than i have seen in a last few years rofl

just like you said, and how every dev handels this, is by adding a new layer or difficulty, (optional in this case) so that those who want to use the "newest" gear with higher rolls can put themselfs up on the challenge even more. lets say you could choose "extreme" versions of the current difficulties which scale to lets say lvl 40 + 5 but your gear too has far better rols, so that would match up

I’ll play as long as they keep some kind of structure coming. I enjoy the seasons with the new gear, cosmetics, and bits of story. I’ve always liked the core gameplay loop as well. It’s fun just to log in and shoot stuff, and more fun to do it with a team.

That being said I would be bummed out if after this season they just pack it up and it devolves into running the invasion again on infinite loop. I guess we’ll see what happens come March. TD3, new expansion, or more seasons? Or maybe none of the above....

They really only have 2 choices , either announce Division 3 or give us a Year 4 with another expansion like WONY and raise the gear cap again , either way I would prefer the later than Massive giving us Div 3 that's not a polished game (unfortunately this seems to be the way of Ubisoft games as of late...)
