Lets be honest here, there are no cheat detection methods.Originally Posted by Ubi-Spud Go to original post

Autohotkey has enough valid use cases that do not involve cheating in any way , shape, or form that its presence alone cannot -- and should not -- be used to indicate a player is cheating. I suppose that anti-cheat vendors and/or game studios could do this, but if they did it would create such a mess they would wish they hadn't.
Because as soon as you ban for this app being present, next you have to ban for having any gaming keyboard that allows recording macros, mice, and now you have added logiTech hardware to the list of things that result in a ban. But, the studio is not dumb enough to ban all advanced keyboards and mice, so what happens next is the studio's lawyers get involved and explain to their company executives why it is not legally wise to enforce policies in an unequal manner.
That said, anti-cheat vendors and studios certainly [B]should[B] detect whether features of valid utilities are being used specifically to circumvent or exploit game mechanics and gain an unfair advantage. But while that sounds somewhat easy to do, in practice it is not so easy.
