You can now damage protected enemies while you have the guardian buff. There's also a noticeable delay before unprotected enemies regain protection from another guardian. Killing a guardian also shocks all enemies on their fire team..
The original iteration of this global event was both fun and frustrating (particularly when a guardian spawns in a different area). However, these changes have made it far more enjoyable in missions.
Equip a high-RPM AR or SMG and go nuts. The Eagle Bearer in particular is hilarious with the buff![]()

The deflector shield doesn't just deflect enemy bullets. Stand behind your nominated shield wielder with a bullet king and spray the shield to send a shower of bullets upon any enemy unfortunate enough to wander in front of them.![]()
Would have been a lot better if they also added a maximum radius to those guardians. Just watched two friendly NPCs shooting at one immune black tusker. Without having any other one around that was supposed to guard him. After few minutes I decided to go look for the guardian that went for a walk. I finally found him almost two blocks away from were the fight was happening.
