I don't think I ever disputed that. Although I guess my wording could have been vague enough to imply it.Originally Posted by mckrackin5324 Go to original post
Still, if Lincoln Memorial comes up with the target loot you want, you might consider spamming it over summit. That's like a 7-8 minute run with several named bosses.
Well, you look like that. Bad wording or bad inspiration? I don't know, I don't care, but it's not fair. Let's make a analogy here for easier understanding. You buy a product, that product doesn't act as advertised, you go back where you purchased from and ask for refund. Correct?Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
What they did with this game is the same thing, except you can't ask for refunding. Even when they sold you a defective product (game). Because company policy. Either like it or not, your money still remains in their pocket. They can sell you anything, no matter in what condition, and you can't do anything about that. Sad part is that most of studios do the same thing lately.
Really? Are we doing this?Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
Tom Clancy’s The Division® 2 Warlords of New York Expansion | Ubisoft (US)
Manhunt - copy/paste, League - copy/paste, Global Events - copy/paste and so on, all from original content. We have to do same CPs, same missions, same bounties, all in same places as regular CPs/missions/bounties, sometimes slightly modified here and there, nothing new except the name of the bosses and the final reward. Even Skyscraper is a copy/paste fest from 1 to 99. Doing 4 CPs, one mission and one bounty to reveal location of some rogue agent that need to be eliminated, doesn't mean this is new content. And we have to do this four times in a row to access the last bounty for the boss, and that happen in one of the already existing places in the game. League? Same old missions, but timed? Seriously? If you can call this "new content" or even "new activities", well, so be it, but you're in a major error. By "new activities" I understand something, you know, new, something I've never seen in the game. Not this recycled content with another title, this can't be called "new". So, again, where are those "new endgame activities"?
Well, if a game is as good as its developers say it is, people are playing it all the time, not only when an new update is coming. Guess what, this one isn't. If people have to wait to play in the day when update is released, then something is not right. They will play for few days, complete the "new" tasks and then leave, again, coming back when next update is released.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
We don't know how much money they invested in this game: development, servers, maintenance, payrolls, taxes etc, so we don't know if they made profit from it. Not without all financial data, and we don't have access to that. It's just an assumption you make just looking at some income table. And is wrong.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
But that game is the same as it was in first day, it's still alive after 15 years and is populated with plenty of players that pay for win. It's a completely different business model.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
All in all, we kinda agree at most issues game have at the moment, except the content one where we don't have anything new besides NY map and Skyscraper, and the financial one which is still blurry.
Being objective and skeptical is VERY fair. Or would you prefer that I just jump on the hate-wagon without thinking?Originally Posted by darkzone.RO Go to original post
We could easily spiral off into a completely different discussion about digital refund laws. Suffice to say I agree that current laws in the US for digital products are bad. They're slightly beyyer in the UK and EU, but not by much.Originally Posted by darkzone.RO Go to original post
That's how these things generally work. You make aclaim, you back it up. In fact, had you opened with that advertisement with your initial argument, this conversation probably would have gone a but different.Originally Posted by darkzone.RO Go to original post
The manhunts I agree are straight copy/paste with no change other than being a string of bounties loosely tied together instead of individual bounties with no context.Originally Posted by darkzone.RO Go to original post
Global events I'm not clear on. While they're definitely recycling them within seasons, did they come from the base game? I honestly cut out of the base game after only about 3 months. So I don't remember if things like Guardian or Zombies were there before WONY.
Summit is new, even if it's pretty dull.
Overall I mostly agree with you in a moral/creative sense. Most of the seasonal activities are not really new. But I also have point out the wording of that ad was very obviously chosen carefully. It never mentions new content, only activities. And by the literal interpretation they didn't lie.
But I come back to one of my original points: what we got for $30 is still pretty decent. I know that's a personal call, subjective in its entirely. On that same note, It's also entirely your prerogative to get angry about the misleading ads.
I would caution against assuming that because you are having to wait for matchmaking at the time you play, that everyone is having tje same problem, or that it's an indication of the overall population of the game.Originally Posted by darkzone.RO Go to original post
It COULD be that. But it could also be a problem with the matchmaking system, or the time of day you play, or the platform, or tje content you're matching for. There are too many variables to say definitively that it's proof of anything besides your own personal wait for a match.
Unless you have more info you'd like to share? By now I hope it's clear that I'm fully willing to believe and agree if you can show me.
Edit: Sorry for typos. I'm at work on break and my phone is bad. XD
Activities:noun: Things to do
ie: Manhunt, Global Events, Time Trials
Seems accurate
Don't get me wrong, I not only want, but would pay money for more missions.. but there is absolutely nothing false about that ad
We paid $30 this spring, and got 50% more map, 5 new missions and a new game mode. Plus, they added a new way to acquire the new gear, plus activities to help guide your weekly playlist. I'm not understanding the indignation.
I think most people don't really consider seasons much in the way of content. Seeing how most of it is recycled events and a timer on old dead missions, myself included. I play the manhunts and ignore the rest. No new game modes before Summit has been very disappointing as well.Originally Posted by LateNiteDelight Go to original post
I personally have no issue with the warlords expansion. Frankly I'd like to see twice yearly expansions of the same magnatude along with a new raid every 6 months and would gladly pay $30 for it. From all the feedback over the last 2 years I would say most feel the same way. Destiny 2 seems to have no issue creating a ton of content. They should follow that model.
The newest Destiny 2 expansion came 13 months after the prior. It's why I'm asking for the kvetch fest to hold off until March [where I will fervently join the mob if nothing has been announced!]Originally Posted by chicagolongball Go to original post
They're still new activities, as advertised - that ad didn't promise you'd love them![]()
Eh...no. I agree about most of the stuff being new. But he's got a point about Manhunts. They're LITERALLY just bounties except for the end-of season mission. That's stretching the definition of "new".Originally Posted by LateNiteDelight Go to original post
Still an activity, that provides a unique narrativeOriginally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post![]()
Yes, but not a NEW activity....which I think is the point he was making.Originally Posted by LateNiteDelight Go to original post
Either way it's a pretty minor point. I guess you could view it like a hair in your food or something, and let it spoil everything. But I don't personally think manhunts and events being lazy developpment is really that big of a deal. I paid for New York content. New gear, new missions. All the seasonal stuff is just a side effect. If it didn't even exist I'd still consider the $30 a decent price.
It is not just you. Here it is 2021, and the loot is still garbage. Ubisoft or whomever is responsible, does not care a hoot about the players. The current season (season 6) is a replay of season 3, and that is cool. However, 70% of the rewards (belstone and hunter's fury) has rolled rainbow: Red, yellow, blue. This stuff is just garbage. Some replay that do this or that with it, however, that is silly, because doing this or that with a rainbow piece of gear, ain't gunna work with what you are trying to accomplish. At this rate, (70%) it is not just a coincidence, or bad rng. This crap should be as rare as god-rolled stuff, which one cannot expect anyway. Someone in this thread was whining about "proof," which is ridiculous because if you actually play and farm, you have all he proof you need. Some say do this or that with it, to them I say you do this or that with it, and have a crap build..... and the ultimate slap in the face is purple loot on heroic! Disgraceful....
