I mean, I've said it's working as the devs intended and I've accepted it. But we also know I'm an odd duck that judges the loot objectively instead of subjectively and care far less than most posters about Loot.
    I haven't ran anywhere.

I've noticed people who dump on the game are more likely to get bad loot. Perhaps they should try saying something positive about it more often
I've noticed that as well, things that make you go hum. Thought that for a while, loot went downhill a lot for me. Then I said something & it got worst.
The thing is I definitely would say its in question. You know like all those forged ballots.

"Force" is a strong word. I haven't spent any time on the PTS, so I don't know the details. Why do you think you'll be Pidgeon-holed into certain content?

The materials are very specific. There are faction specific materials required that drop from faction bosses. And as usual, the only shortcut is the Summit and the Dark Zone.

Huh...like if I want to upgrade True Patriot, I'll have to run True Sons missions or something?

I beleive you have to use some materials realted to hte piece (so chest upgrade parts for chespeices) and few others depending on the type or brand and price goes up the higher the tier of the item or hte more upgrades you do, didn't test the PTS so this is just from reading the notes and comments so i'm probably wrong

Sort of. Each faction has a material and certain pieces require certain materials. It's ridiculous. There are 21 materials and each roll requires 4 specific ones.

One example from the PTS. A player has a chest piece with all god rolls except one. It is 10.5% out of possible 12%.

To fully optimize that piece requires 612 chest piece alloys, 311 field recon data, 179 Black Tusk materials and 124 project materials.

Deconstructing a chest piece gives 1 chest piece alloy. A heroic control point gives 4 recon data. Black Tusk bosses drop 1-4 materials ( pretty sure) and caches can contain 1-5 project materials.

The Summit and/or daily/weekly projects are mandatory. 24 possible materials a week doing all the projects. 10 weeks worth without DZ. 5 weeks doing DZ projects.
    It's insane.

Sounds like typical Massive attempts to coerce players into runninh content they otherwise aren't interested in.

Well, hopefully there'll be drops from other sources, like SHD watch scavenging. Otherwise I doubt it will be used much outside of grudgingly run missions to top off 1 or 2% at most.

You can craft some of those materials, which they said is the main way to get some of them compared to tohers
