    ^^ This

I don't think i have ever kept anything out of a field proficiency cache, they are just as bad as CP4 loot boxes.

I've gotten some named items and a few armor pieces worth keeping. But they looked exactly like the type of drops that come out of heroic.

I could have swore there were patch notes describing the changes to caches, but I can't find them. I think it was 10.1 or something?

Unfortunately it makes things a little TOO grindy and a lot of players quit because of it.

There isn't. It's a minimum AVERAGE of all the attributes, but no minimum for how low a single attribute can be.

I swear every single decent chest piece I get is Overlord. I don't want Overlord.

As far as i'm aware they said no matter what difficulty you play at when you earn a field proficiency cache it will contain heroic gear.

Loot quality wouldn't be an issue if the crafting mechanics would be good. Massive fails to deliver. They never correct false directions taken to make things better, they keep them at worse level over a time period of months and years. The dimension of incomeptence of this dev team regarding long term motivation is mind blowing.

Honestly? I have no idea. Prior to me deciding to put together a gRoll Purple build, anything non-Gold was immediately forgotten [unless unexpected]. I've also typically treated Proficiency Caches as lottery tickets, that I open in large batches and quickly scan for high rolls.

I've only been toying with the Purple build idea for a little while [and playing less], but I haven't in that time frame - I'll make sure to pay more attention to that moving forward.

I'm struggling to find anything in that regards. That also doesn't jive with how they've talked about Loot over this year, but my Google-Fu is failing me. I'm hoping one of us can track it down eventually.

Over the past month or two that I've been paying more focused attention, I haven't found Proficiency Caches to be Heroic quality. They're definitely not Legendary quality [or my Legendary runs are just spectacular and my Proficiency Caches are the opposite].

My gut says it's modified Hard [no purples, skewed a little further right], but if someone told me they knew it was Challenging, I'd probably believe them. Season Caches feel much closer to Heroic.

Again, my sample size is small, so maybe I'm just having a bad run.

I mainly asked because I believe that it would be a bug. I finally tracked down the official notes I was looking for. I couldn't remember that there was a 10.1 patch that added some things. And that's where I found it.

So back when FPC was still at the challenging level, it was absolutely possible to receive purple gear from it, since that's also possible from regular challenging drops. But since they upped it to Heroic, not only should purples not be dropping, but the high-end drops should be slightly higher average roll than before 10.0.

Granted, it's completely random, so I think you have the right approach: Open mass quantities and see if there are any gems in the rough.
