Curious, does anybody use the crafting station?

Outside of a few things like re-rolling exotics, I have found the crafting table to be utterly worthless. People complain about the drop rate of garbage gear, but in almost two years I've never crafted an item - any item - where the specs weren't all in the bottom 1/3 of the possible range.

I consider it more productive to grind, since (as rare as it is) there is still some possibility of a good piece dropping. In my experience the chance of crafting something with good stats is about absolute zero. Then again, maybe this is all by design?

Has anyone else had the same issues?

I once crafted 64 Savage Wolverines (a Crafting Bench exclusive) in a row before I had one "ok" enough to try in a build.

The crafting table is only good for crafting items that can't be looted in the game world otherwise. That's how it should be in Division 3 imo.

If you see all the build videos on YouTube, there will be a lot that use improvised holsters, kneepads, or gloves for the additional mod slot. Also if you have the patience and resources to craft a lot a duds, you can make a very useable piece if you throw together a build quickly.

Nope. It has never been able to craft anything that is decent. Aside from going there to craft the exotics for which you just got a blueprint, or re-rolling exotics as you mentioned, it doesn't really have anything to offer.

Except one thing.... its existence enables the studio to call the game an "RPG".

I recently crafted a bunch of Improvised pieces. I've crafted the Named Items, plus Yaahl stuff. I've also crafted Replica weapons a few times when I wanted to try it before committing to targeting it for loot. Everyone once in a while I roll the dice for a few Chest pieces I'd like to have, but don't specifically loot for.

Only for the occasional Yaahl piece for a 100% hazard pro build that I use on a couple areas of Iron Horse raid. The build doesn't need to be optimized. I just need the 100% hazard protection. To use in a damage build of any kind, no. The rolls are beyond terrible 99% of the time.

Lately I've used it to craft improvised gear so I can have the extra mod slot. I've crafted quite a few pieces but nothing I'm really happy about but the ones I do have work ok.

Each of these took 30-50 rolls [Holster was longest, Knees were shortest]

I plan to try for further upgrades sporadically

PfE build I'm currently using [switch up all the pieces randomly, was using a Ceska Chest + EB the other day]
