Does completing summit level 100 reset the checkpoint?

I have a level 100 checkpoint right now. If I complete level 100, do I have to start over at level 1 or do I retain the level 100 checkpoint? Thanks.

You'll start over at level 1.

Although you start back at level 1, you can join someone else who is on a higher floor and gain that checkpoint.

If you leave the group before killing the last hunter then the checkpoint remains. You can always collect loot before leaving but if you need to complete the floor for the weekly rewards you can just borrow someone else's floor 100 instance and do it again.

It would be great if you could hold the check point with each character instead of it resetting them all.

You're able to farm floor 100 with your clan or friends over and over again by simply having 1 player leave before the final hunter is killed. The remaining players then proceed to kill that final hunter and then join up on the player that left to get to floor 100 again. Rinse and repeat.

Note - Players have to take the elevator up to floor 100 to actually aquire the checkpoint save unless they already have it. If they don't do this you risk resetting at level 1.

The final hunter always drops a named item and frequently drops exotics so you have to take turns with who leaves.
