Hi, I'm completely new to Just Dance but I'm wanting to get an xbox series x for my kids at Christmas and get something that we can all play so was looking at Just Dance but no idea how it all works - am I right in thinking that ion the old versions and old xbox you used the Kinect to sense motion? I've read that you can use a smartphone to sense the motion but you have to hold it - surely that will then only sense what your right arm is doing not whether your legs or left arm is moving? Seems a bit rubbish and my kids are too young to have phones so would need to borrow ours, (not always possible and not keen on), rules seems pretty pointless?
Have I got it completely wrong? Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi AB4122
Welcome to the Just Dance. I hope you will enjoy the great list of songs for you and your children.
I will suggest that using Kinect is the right choice if you don't want your kids to use a phone as a controller. I would recommend skipping the option of buying Xbox Series X and to buy the first version of Xbox One (not Xbox One S or Xbox One X). As of right now, Xbox Series X doesn't support Kinect and Kinect manufacturing is stopped I would suggest finding the bundle(Xbox One with Kinect).
Hello AB4122,
Welcome to the forums! TectonicB72 is correct. For the Xbox One you can use the Kinect to sense motion versus using the smartphone app. The Xbox Series X unfortunately does not support the Kinect. For a list of all of the supported peripherals by system, please check out this page ---> Here.
