    Hey there guys!

I apologise for the delayed response. Please note that Just Dance 2021 is not eligible for a next-gen upgrade. You can read about this here.

We apologise for any confusion or inconvenience caused by this. You should still be able to play Just Dance 2021 for the PS4 on your PS5 via backwards compatibility. You will need to ensure that your disc has been inserted into your console to play.

Personally I’m not interested in the upgrade, because it’s more of a downgrade than an upgrade, since it simply removes PSCamera and PSMove support, however it does say on the Ubisoft store that you do get a free upgrade if you buy the PS4 version.

Hey there CarlosShadow7! Can you please share with me the link for the storefront that you are looking at? There are differences between different regions concerning the upgrade.

    Hey! Sure, no problem.

    https://store.ubi.com/us/game/?lang=...&source=detail

It seems to be the US one, I think it’s the only one that even has the game available.

Usually with other games the upgrades are available globally, so if it’s just for the US then it’s kinda odd. However I’m not sure if someone here does live in the US and was able to upgrade, because I haven’t seen a single person yet saying they successfully upgraded.

It's possible that it is a region specific upgrade, CarlosShadow7. I can confirm that, for your region, the next-gen upgrade is not available.

If any players in the US region have been unable to upgrade their copy of Just Dance 2021 from PS4 to PS5, please let us know in this thread and we can reach out to that regional support team further investigation. Thanks!

The exact same thing happened with both Assassin's Creed and Watchdogs which they only fixed because they had so many complaints. In this case they just can't be bothered so are now saying its not upgradable and only region specific. Either false advertising or blatant lying lol.

Ubi-Borealis, well like I said, I’m not interested in that “upgrade” at all, so it’s ok if it’s not available in my region. It was however announced sometime ago that it did have it, and it never mentioned that it’s only for the US. In fact I found the original website where everyone got this info from, and it says the same thing in all regions.

So from my point of view if people don’t get the upgrade, it is false advertisement. Keep in mind I’m not blaming you though, I know you’re just doing your job.

wonneil, yep, I did see that it happened with their other games as well lol. Don’t really know what’s happening these past years, Ubisoft from pre 2017 seemed more organized.

wonneil - Please accept my apologies for the delay in our reply to you. The issues with upgrading to the next-gen versions of Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion were temporary, and were resolved as soon as possible. I do sincerely apologise for any confusion or frustration caused by the delay in this. With regard to Just Dance 2021, as per the link my colleague Ubi-Borealis shared here, this is not a game that offers the free next-gen upgrade. Once again, I apologise for any disappointment caused by this, and either myself or a colleague would be happy to forward any feedback on this subject that you have if you can share it over on our new Discussions platform.

CarlosShadow7 - I have read the page you shared carefully, and under Just Dance 2021, can see that the description makes mention only of an upgrade from the Xbox One version of the game to the Xbox Series X|S version, while for PlayStation consoles, it is only stated that the PlayStation 4 version will be playable on PlayStation 5. I will quote this below:
Players who purchase Just Dance 2021 on Xbox One will be able to download their game to the Xbox Series X | S version at no additional cost. Just Dance 2021 for PlayStation 4 will be backwards compatible on PlayStation 5**.

** Upgrade to the digital PS5 version of the game at no additional cost when and where available. To upgrade eligible PS4 disc copies, players need a PS5 console with a disc drive. Visit https://ubi.li/NextGenUpgrades for more details.
The linked list of compatible titles does not contain Just Dance 2021, and I believe is there for reference for PlayStation 5 owners in relation to other games, not Just Dance 2021 itself. As such, I hope that this clarifies matters, if there was any remaining confusion, though as I do fully appreciate how this could look misleading, I'll be sure to raise this as feedback to the Just Dance and Ubisoft Store teams. Should you have any additional questions, concerns or feedback, please reach out to us over on our new Discussions platform and we'll be happy to take a closer look into this. Thank you!
