If I buy JD2021 for Xbox Series X, will it show up in my Xbox One X?

There is a great deal going on Amazon at $29.99. I really want to play it. But the next gen Series X doesn't support Kinect so I haven't bought the console yet, despite I think I should really give the new console a chance. So if I buy a digital copy, which comes out on Nov 24, meant for the new console, would it show up on my Xbox One X once I redeem the code via xbox one x?

    In this article at https://www.onmsft.com/news/just-dan...%20for%20money.
    , it is reported that

"Interestingly, Just Dance 2021 doesn’t support Microsoft’s Smart Delivery initiative which means that the same version of the game won’t unlock next gen features or improvements on the new Xbox Series X and S consoles. An Xbox Series X version of Just Dance 2021 is coming out on November 24th, however, and it is included in this purchase so you’ll still get your value for money.

Due to the Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions technically being different titles though, game progress won’t transfer between console generations and there will be separate Xbox Achievements to unlock for each version."

I am confused. Again, is it safe to buy JD2021 digital code for Series X and then redeem it on my xbox one x? Many thanks.

    Hello maxkenji2,

Welcome to the forums! You will want o purchase the Xbox One version if you have an Xbox One console. If you buy the Xbox Series X version of Just Dance 2021 you will be able to use it on your Series X only. That article is letting you know that if you purchase the Xbox One version, you will not be able to carry it over to your Series X with smart delivery as it is not an eligible title.

If you have an Xbox One, then you will want to purchase the Xbox One version for your console and not the Series X.

When I visit the Ubisoft website to buy Just Dance 2021, when it asks me to choose my platform, It has Xbox One / Xbox One Series X together. I don't see a separate option to purchase just one or the other. In fact, when I preordered Just Dance 2021 from Ubisoft's website, I just clicked the button for Xbox One / Xbox One Series X, and the game that I received in the mail (which arrived on the release day, even with standard shipping -- thank you very much) says "Series X" on the case. I have Xbox One S, and didn't see an option to buy an Xbox version from Ubisoft that doesn't say Series X on it. Am I missing something? The game works on my Xbox One S (apart from Dancer Card issues and DOTW issues that other players are reporting; and when I tried playing the game on Switch, I had the same dancer card issues there, so I don't think my issues relate to series X...).

(But I have no idea about the transferring issue. It may be true that it won't transfer.)

Many thanks. For your first sentence, i noticed that too on the Ubisoft website just now. In theory, the Series X version comes out in two days. So I will have to wait another two days. I honestly don't know when i will buy the new console. Still prefer PC and Steam when I can use Cheat Engine to cheat with money. Too poor in real life so let me be a milionnaire in the virtual world! Thanks!

I couldn't resist, so I went ahead and bought the XSX code on Amazon.com. It's 40% off!!! It's redeemable on my X1X platform. While I was on the console, I noticed that the xbox store also lists two JD2021: One version appears to be for X1 only and another for both. The one for both version is $29.99. So I really can't make of what it means. I guess we will know more on Nov 24. Maybe different achievement system? The game size is 19.39GB.

Though not obvious at the beginning of my download, now that I finished installing, i can see a JD 2021 (Xbox Series X|S) version in "all my owned game" yet to be installed. So I guess this deal I got is a pretty perfect deal. Unlimited 30-day free trial could also start at any time of my choosing. I guess i really can't complain other than saying the XSX really must have a kinect like device. No one wants to hold the phone firmly in their right hand to play this game! No one!
