Hi
My game has a tendancy to crash, its totaly random but it hasnt always been like it, i've tried to validate game files and it made no differance. Also disabled the overlay function of ubisoft louncher and it made no differance. The hardware is fine in temps amd 3700x @ 55-65 celcius and GTX 1080 classified @ around 60, 32gb RAM so shouldent be a hardware issue.
Any tips?
Hi Adnerhill91!
Sorry to hear you having issues with freezing in the game. Thanks for confirm you have tried verifying the game files.
In this situation, can you please try the steps in this article.
Please let us know the results of those steps.
Thanks!
Tip #1 - if you are have DX12 turned on, turn it off. Using DX12 in the Division 1 or 2 causes game to freeze and then go to desktop. The time it takes for this to happen can be a few minutes, a few hours, or a few days, but it will cause the game to freeze and then goes to the desktop This has been going on for 5+ years since Division 1, it has been reported ad nauseam and they have done absolutely NOTHING to fix it, as it exceeds their technical abilities.
I just looked at the problem myself and found two solutions that could work for you.
I found this solution on the forum that pointed me to the cause of the problem.
go to your Documents\My Games\Tom Clancy's The Division 2\ShaderCache\ and remove all files from the dx11 and dx12 folder.
Now why does this help? it could be that files got corrupted somehow and need to rebuild. deleting them will initiate this rebuild
why are they corrupted? in my case this was due to my onedrive sync but it could easily happen with other file cloud syncs like dropbox and others.
Why ubisoft made the decision to save cached game files to the mydocuments folder instead of the myapps\local directory is a mystery to me but if you have a file sync program running in my docs and are experiencing problems disabling the file sync will probably solve all your problems.
Hope this helps
Had this tonight. Halfway through Potomac Event Center the game forced itself to windowed mode and crashed to the desktop. A day earlier it was a screen freeze that required system reboot from the lock screen.
What graphics drivers is everyone using? I think it is either a driver issue or something on the game side following latest updates...
I'm using the latest Nvidia drivers but it's been happening since a few driver updates already, at least 2Originally Posted by kolack Go to original post
