    Rating Random Loot

It’s become apparent that not only do we use the same words differently [gRoll], but look at Loot Quality differently and I had an idea this morning that might sense of the disparate opinions? I don’t know if anyone will indulge me, but I’m wondering what people would think of the following random drops, and why:

    WD Core: 9.8%
    Crit Chance: 5.4%
    Crit Damage: 10.8%

    Armor Core: 153,000
    Hazard Protection: 9%
    Health: 13,829

    Skill Tier
    Skill Haste: 11%
    Skill Damage: 7.4%

I’ll offer up my ratings and reasonings after a few posts, so as to not poison the well.

You didn't say they brands, so I'll assume they are all improvised holsters you crafted.

    1. Keep. Roll max WD.

    2. Dump. I'd want at least one max roll between armor or HazPro, and then roll over health.

    3. Keep. Roll max skill damage or roll max Status over haste depending on the build.

Keep #1 and trash the other two.

Skill tier isn't something to even consider. It's existence makes it a god roll so there's no need to really compromise on the other two. One of the other two has to be perfect.

My answers would be different if I was a fresh level 40 with no loot but after about 40 SHD levels, we all have better gear in our stash. That's when the upgrades turn off (almost).

Here's my personal experience. Yesterday I was SHD level 145. Today, I am SHD level 172. I have kept two pieces in those 27 levels. I won't use them but they are god rolled in two useable attributes. Everything else was junk aside from getting another two attributes in my library because of two pieces with one max attribute and two below 50% of their potential. Recal would have left either piece with one trash attribute.

I purposely left off brand or type to keep the focus on the rolls.

How would you grade those pieces: bad, ok, good, great, excellent?

    Impossible to say without brand.

How would you rate this piece? To me, it's garbage. No recal or optimization can fix it.

I don't think you're going to get any sort of consensus as it depends on context - i.e. what are you trying to do, and what sort of rolls do you currently have. Someone with comparable pieces and worse rolls will likely rate those as great. Someone with >95% rolls might not.

DPS piece I would think is good given you would max the weap dmg on the table, other 2 stats are close to max (6% crit ch and 12% crit dmg)

It also depends heavily on the brand set bonuses.
Now, I would LOVE to have a mixed up rainbow Wyvern chest. I'd like weapon damage, skill damage and skill haste and Kinetic Momentum as a talent. I'm not going to complain that something like that will never drop though.

Adding a Brand, introduces Subjectivity. It was a question about roll quality.

Also, that's an perfect piece for a Capacitor, Skill focused Hybrid build

Agree that the piece cannot be salvaged. Example: I might be using a hive and chem launcher, so resetting the cool downs doesn't help me, plus I need skill haste and skill repair rather than skill damage.

None of these pieces are useful to my agent. For the first, I need all three attributes to be maxed to be better than what I have already. Same for the skill-related piece. The second piece is no good because health is a useless attribute, but I want max armor or hazard protection.

However, if I was SHD level 10, the first and third would be gold and I'd be pulling the armor or hazard protection from the second piece into my recalibration library or breaking it down for parts.

    So, for grading...
    SHD > 1500
    Trash
    Trash
    Trash
    SHD < 100
    Gold
    Fodder
    Gold
