Can I get a legitimate reason behind No crossplay/progression?

    Title.
The new cross-generation feature is irrelevant, if not damning to old-gen who've half the FPS. The argument that pc players will crush console players is irrelevant as next gen solves performance.
Currently I've been dusting fools on pc, with my generic un-modded Xbox controller via BT.

I sincerely miss the content and progression I've acquired on Xbox, which I unfortunately lost access to a while back.
I simply cannot afford to get a new Xbox, I have tons of games on pc and obviously don't want to buy again, I would have zero use for it other than enjoying For Honor.
Common sense asks, is spending 250-500 on a new console truly a fair deal for someone who simply desires his exclusive/limited assets and progression?

I won't go into the popular arguments behind why we need cross-play because we all already know why it's needed. I'm certain with enough incentive all cross utilities are completely possible. So what is it ubi, the cost of implementation just not worth it? Is there a genuine technical obstacle behind bringing cross-play at least?

For Honor is such a one-of-a-kind game and nothing comes close to it.
The future will definitely not look bright without cross utilities and we all know that's not subject to opinion.

I definitely want to know the reason too, because there is no chance that the Ubisoft can be so brain damaged as to think that lacking these cross-platform utilities for For Honor is remotely a good idea. The lack of cross progression alone will probably smash the playerbase into pieces in of itself.

Whatever the reason, I have a feeling that Microsoft/Sony are definitely involved in some way in hindering cross platform/progression (Sony especially. Their pigheadedness in cross-platform is one of the many reasons as to why I won't be buying a PS5 this gen and am instead building my own PC.). A developer can't be so stupid as to think this is a good idea.

You're probably hitting close to the point with this. Still left with a feeling of uncertainty and honestly it's just not cool that the limited items people have gathered over the years are simply "not available to you anymore" If you choose or even have no choice but to change platform.

Can we agree that UBI needs to be more transparent about this topic? This is 2020, hearing things like "sorry, we cannot help you with your request" via customer support is such an old cliché.
It's totally reasonable to expect that we have more flexibility over the platforms with our content.

This isn't even a case of profit, a lot of the limited stuff people have acquired but can't access due to the current limitations, is subject to UBI iirc specifically not wanting to repeat limited/exclusive events for the content that new players may have missed out on. So no repeat events, no content reintroduced into the store, no options.

These facts alone suggest this is quite honestly a loss-loss situation for the most valuable/devoted players on For Honor.
