2020 crashes all the time after playing 2021 on Switch

I’m playing 2020 and 20201 on Nintendo Switch. But after I played 2021 for the first time, 2020 crashes on main menu all the the time with an unknown error.

I bought 2020 digital version on Nintendo eShop, but physical 2021 from a local store.

I have tried everything I could, like clear all the saving data, delete and download again, reconnect my Nintendo online account on new users, and even restart Switch. These all lead to the same result.

The only way to play is to change a different user without connecting to my account. This could only allow offline mode.

Does anyone have an idea about the error I got?

Hi patr.j.ck, thanks for posting and welcome to the forums.

Can I ask do you have a lot of platforms linked to your Ubisoft Account? Are you able to unlink any of these platforms through our account management website, that you do not use, allowing you to play the game on your original profile?

Here is the link to our website where you can see what platforms such as console and Facebook accounts you may have connected, under the linked accounts section - https://account.ubisoft.com/en-GB

Let us know back in this thread after you have checked, if you were able to remove any extra accounts you may have had and if it resolved the profile problem for you?

Can I also make sure you have agreed to our new Terms of Use that were changed this year? It should have prompted you to agree to the terms if you have played a Ubisoft game this year and connected online.

Would you also be able to post a picture of this 'Unknown Error' message you get when the game crashes? Thank you.

    Thank you for your assistance.

I do have digital JD2020 on PS4 and NS, and a physical JD2021 copy on NS. Both JD2020 and JD2021 on NS were bought in this month.

I have unlinked PlayStation Network, but it doesn't make the error stop occurring on my NS. Besides, the error showed the first time before I linked my UBISOFT account to NS but right after I played JD2021. No other NS game in between.

I also played AC series on PC months ago. I believe that I have agreed the new T&C since then.

The links below are the recorded videos with error warning prompted in the end. It was written "The program has been shut down due to some error." in Chinese.

    Hope these could help.

Thank you very much for getting back to us, and apologies for the delay.

This is a very unusual and specific issue, but we'll do our very best to help you get this resolved.

As you know the game seems to work with another user, and you have already tried some account / user-specific troubleshooting to no avail.

Do you perhaps have a friend / family member with a Nintendo Switch? If so, you could try logging in using your user on their Switch, and see if the issue reoccurs.

    - If it does reoccur - It's an account-relate issue, and we'll need to dig deeper.
    - If it does not reoccur - Your Nintendo Switch in particular is having difficulties with your user. If removing then re-adding the user did not work, our only option may be to reset back to factory settings.

I hope that makes sense but please let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi,

I have the same issue and lots of players in China suffer this issue too,

If I‘m using the user that already link my uplay account to play Just Dance 2021, then I play Just Dance 2020 with this user and game will crash.
If I'm using the new user without link any account to play Just Dance 2020, the game won't crash but I get a new blank save data.

I won't delete my user or reset back to factory settings, it will delete my save datas too.

So could you please check this issue again?

I have reset my console back to factory settings and downloaded JD2020 from Nintendo eShop again. But the error occurred in the same way.

No matter how, if JD2020 tries to connect internet-related functions, it crashes all the time. I believe that it's about the first issue you mentioned. The thing is this error occurred for the first time before I linked JD2020 to my UBISOFT account.

I have also submitted a ticket #13273691, but without further solutions or responses for days. Hope you can look deeper into it.

    Hey patr.j.ck,

I've chased up that ticket and can see it is with the Escalation team. We wouldn't be able to give an ETA as we cannot speak for that team's workload, but they will get to your request.

In the meantime, I would advise against updating that ticket as such actions could knock it out of the Escalation queue.

Can't play Just Dance 2020 with internet on

Hey guys, I recently got Just Dance 2021 and I have been enjoying it! However, I do still want to play Just Dance 2020 sometimes (not on Unlimited), but I can't because every time I do, it crashes before the "Press A to start" message appears. I have tried it while on airplane mode, and the game works normally, but it is annoying to not be able to turn my internet on.

I have tried playing with a different profile (I am on Nintendo Switch and you can choose a profile) and it works fine.

    How do I fix this?

    Thanks :)

    Hey there guys!

Arsonist__ - I've moved your post into this thread, so we can keep all similar posts in one place.

If you are encountering this issue in game, could you please provide us with the following information:

    - Which versions of Just Dance 2020/2021 do you own (physical or digital)?
    - Do you receive any error messages or codes when the crash happens? If so, please can you let us know the error code.
    - Are you able to play the game offline on your main profile? Or are you unable to play the game on your main profile at all?
    - Are you able to play online using an alternative profile? Or can you only play the game in offline mode?

    Thanks!
