I have a growing concern over the conversion of turning regular crafting mats into optimization mats. Due to Scav Points from the SHD watch, players with High SHD are going to be able to max out their gear extremely quickly and not have to do anything other then spend scav points and convert.
Due to how each character has their own SHD point total, a player can even exploit the scav points by creating a new character, boost to 30, level 40 (which can be done quick) and gain access to a fresh set of scav points based on their watch level. Even at SHD2000, thats 1250 Scav points available for use. And you can keep doing it over and over and over again.
It also brings back an unfair advantage to those who used the old TP exploit for lots of SHD levels quickly and the old Warhound farm/exploit that also gave a lot of SHD levels quickly before being patched out. Those with players with 4000+ SHD will be able to just convert their way to max god roll gear and bypass the natural farming for them. If they run out of points, just do above and get another fresh set of points.
This is very concerning.
So players who have played the crap out of the game are going to, in a way, be rewarded for being loyal? Isn't that kind of the point of making those hard core fans happy?Originally Posted by Dragonmaster083 Go to original post
Players with high SHD level have already maxed out their builds. They don´t need the station. I play for fun not for loot.Originally Posted by Dragonmaster083 Go to original post
So the new opti station is mostly for casual gamers or beginners. The costs are high atm - but we are in a test phase.
SHD Level = Time played actually isn't true due to the old TP exploit for XP and Warhound XP Farm that got patched out due to how much XP it was giving. I have played a lot without XP farming and I am around 1200. However there are plenty of people 2k+ that has far less time then me only becuase they joined the warhound convoy farms or did the old TP exploit for XP/hr rates that are no where near achievable now.
And i have seen plenty of 1000+ shd people with terrible gear rolls as well. Granted yes, it doesn't take much to get to a full set of Tier 7 or Tier 8 rolls now but at the same time, its the getting the last 0.5% here or last 0.2% there that will be basically completely instantly by these people that use Scav points instead of actually doing the opti mats farming
And a lot of this concern is for the Tier 9 to Tier 10 roll since yes a lot of pople do have near god rolled builds, but they aint full god rolled, they are just off god rolls. This is the concern that means you never have to farm for god rolls as if the rolls are in the Tier 8 or Tier 9 range, you can just keep that piece and use Scav point conversions to get it to god roll and finding gear in the Tier 8 and Tier 9 range isn't "that" hard.
I think a good portion of Dragonmaster's concern might be coming from the possibility to just /re-grind from 31 to 40 then recreate a character/ being more efficient than playing the end-game in a more conventional way.
Which very well may be a fair thing to be worried about. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Dragon.
Are you one of those, please tell me, because Im watch 2000+ and I dont have a single build that is 100% maxed out.Players with high SHD level have already maxed out their builds
Mostly because I play for fun on Legendary and I dont farm that much. I create builds every week btw.
And about what Dragon said, I have the same concerns, however I THINK even those players with high scavanger pieces won't be making everything god roll as fast as we think right now. I could be wrong here
Ya thats more the concern part for me since if you have say 2000 SHD level and you need opti mats. If you dont have enough Scav Points, just level a new character up 31-40 (boost to wt5). 31-40 can be done in a few hours if you know what your doing and bam, you got another 1750 scav points to use (for more opti mats). From initial look the project materials (shd) is the main limiter in optimization since projects can only be done once daily and weekly (multiple charcters can also bypass it). But if you can just use scav points to bypass the "artifical" time gate, it can be very easy to get max rolled gear (far far far far faster then trying to farm for god rolls).Originally Posted by Ubi-RealDude Go to original post
Loot is one of the main drive force to keep one playing and the hunt for that best rolled piece. From concept it sounds like the optistation is to bypass some of the RNG involved with farming by using a time requirement instead. But with the conversion, you can bypass the time gate entirely and get whatever you want god rolled very quickly.
I understand OP's concerns, but ultimately its gonna net most of us what, an extra half a percent to 1 or 2? It's a minimal gain at this point in the life of the game.
Why do you think we are just now getting this feature? Most likely because of the minimal impact it will actually have.
