The jump from 30-60 does not have a huge impact on actual gameplay and this has been proven time and time again. The minimal benefits come in once you push above 120fps. All having 60fps is going to do is making janky animations like Raider's stunning tap or HL's chain light seem a bit better.
Also the fact that we've had tournaments on console and pc for dominion and they both ended up using the same meta heros kind of disproves that frames=meta gameplay false. What swings matches is knowledge and making good macro plays. Not frames. The only reason you see console bound players get away with more on console is because the average console player is generally ignorant about the games mechanics/nuances. Where as the average pc player actually knows how to play the game beyond simply pressing buttons and reactive play.
I don't fully agree on this.
I believe the difference between 30 and 60 will be astronomical, especially considering the reduced input delay the new consoles have over the old consoles.
The difference, for example, between PC and Console (Xbox One) is pretty nuts.
With higher frames and reduced input delay, defending became wildly easier on PC than on Console (Xbox One).
The new consoles (Xbox Series X/PS5) have higher frames and reduced input delay.
60fps is all you really need to be competitive. 30 was so low that you actually missed things. 60 is enough to see everything clearly and higher than that is only useful for shooters.
