    Didn’t realise there was this thread! Been frustrated trying to play Vahalla since launch can’t believe we still don’t have a fix. I’ve spoken to PlayStation advisors and Ubisoft advisors on email and twitter and no one wants to even acknowledge there is a problem. In response to the Ubisoft reply, there is no ‘ free upgrade’ tile

    The upgrade does not work. Everyone has told you it does not work. It appears that no-one in the UK can get access to this. There has been NO official word from Ubisoft or PlayStation regarding this subject. Even weirder is that no news outlets have mentioned it apart from PushSquare. Australia seemed to have a similar issue. Can we please have an official channel acknowledgement that something isn't quite right. Or why don't you get one of your UK based staff to give it a go and post their attempt at finding the upgrade.

    I am struggling with this too, the only PS5 game I have for my new PS5 so it's really disappointing that it is not working.

    UK version of the game, CUSA13035, UK PSN.

    Edit: I just made a Turkish PSN account and the option is there to upgrade it. Irritating but at least I can play the game. Issue clearly with UK PSN and it’s frustrating that nothing has been fixed yet.

    That’s about as much use as switch it on and off. Everyone’s tried that and it clearly doesn’t work. Time to start emailing out codes for the digital version as the disc version has big problems in the UK.

    Wow.

    Clearly they have no idea how to fix it!!!
    Surely we should be getting our money back as its false advertising and we have bought a product based on that.
    We need to flood the forums with the news so that maybe a few people that are wanting to buy the game might see that its not a ps5 game can avoid buying it.
    Not fixed by wednesday and im putting it on ebay. To be honest my excitement to play its gone now anyway.

    Eurogamer have a news story up about the issue, sadly the suggested workaround not creating a foreign account but looking for the PS5 upgrade tab does not work for me as the Upgrade tab is non existant.

    Hi, I tested this again for both my Watch Dogs Legion and Assassins Creed Valhalla disks. Neither have the option to select ‘Free Upgrade’ when looking at the games in the Library/Hub. Only PS4 versions are selectable

    This is becoming quite exhausting and disappointing. Surely Ubisoft support should just be able to give us a digital code to redeem the PS5 version? (Which is currently reduced down to £37.99 in the store...)

    I paid £50 for the Watch Dogs Legion standard PS4 disc to play when my PS5 arrives. I’m in the UK, my PS5 has a disc drive. The PS4 game case has CUSA 13035 on the spine.

    When I entered the disc into my PS5 - it copied over and installed an update. It says PS4 and shows a disc icon. There is no option to get the free upgrade. The only option in the game hub is to pay £38 for the PS5 digital version.

    I emailed both PlayStation and Ubisoft last Thursday, and also sent Ubisoft a direct message on Twitter. No reply to any of this but I know they’re all busy. I’ve followed both Playstation and Ubisoft’s support guides but they’ve not worked.

    Can Ubisoft at least post/tweet “we are aware of issues in Europe where users are unable to redeem their free upgrade, we’re working hard to rectify this and expect it to be available before the end of the week...”? Is the company even aware? Is there a fix planned? Are we being listened to?

    This has really tarred my excitement for Ubisoft launches and I’m exhausted. Do Ubisoft not care about us, their customers?

    I was really excited for the new Far Cry, but I think I’ll leave it for a few months and let the bugs get fixed, plus the game will be half the price it is at launch.
